About the Center

• The Center for Child and Family Development was founded in 1984. More than 10,000 children and families have received counseling through two programs:

- Mission Possible (provides School-Based Family Counseling to Bay Area schools).

- The Community Counseling Center. • Co-sponsors the Oxford Symposium in School-

Based Family Counseling and the Council for Human Rights of Children.

Mission and Accountability

• We seek to empower families, children, adolescents and adults to succeed in work, love and play through sensitive counseling and consultation.

• All counseling and supervision at our Center is conducted in accordance with the licensing laws of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and the ethical guidelines of the American Association for Marital and Family Therapy.

• We emphasize a multi-cultural sensitive family systems approach: - Takes account of the positive, as well as the challenging ways that people affect each other.- Working collaboratively with our clients; helping you find the answers you already have inside.

• We provide counseling and consultation to:– Adults– Couples– Families, Adolescents and Children– Groups

Counselors

• Our counselors are graduate CA-registered marital and family therapy interns working with experienced, licensed supervisors.

• A multi-culturally diverse group selected for their high level of skill and aptitude as healers.

• Sliding scale fees.

Boulevard, near Glen Park BART station.

• The Center is staffed between9 am and 8 pm Monday to Saturday.
