New Community College Class: 08A-022Irrigation Water Management inCalifornia Consultant Nancy Gutierrez Presenter Dr. Stuart Styles Description: Through collaboration with the Cal Poly Irrigation Training and Research Center and funds from the California Community College Chancellors’ office, Workforce and Economic Development Division; there will be a new Irrigation Water Management on-line course that will be available to California community college instructors (ITRC 240). The class will cover the following contents: California water supply and budget; water rights; local, state and federal water institutions; California water issues; soil-plant-water relationships; evapotranspiration; crop water use; irrigation sched-ules; salinity and drainage; irrigation efficiency; water measurement; soil moisture/plant stress measurement; irrigation systems and practical constraints affecting irrigation scheduling. Instructor materials will include syllabi, PowerPoint, lecture notes, homework, exams, videos, lab exercises, keys.
