PART 1---Brief introduction

Leslie Cheung (September 12th 1956 ~ April 1st 2003), his nickname called‘elder brother’( 哥哥 ) , was a great singer, actor, record producer and film director which come from Hong Kong. He was considered as one of founding father of Canto Pop( 粤语流行音乐 ), he had made a huge contribution to Chinese record and film industry.

In 2010, he was voted as the reason number one of “loving Hong Kong”. CNN considered Leslie Cheung as the “Most Beautiful Man from Hong Kong Cinema” and one of “Asia’s 25 Greatest Actor of All Time.”

In 1977, Leslie borrowed 20 HK dollars from his servant and signed up for “the Asian Music Contest”held by Rediffusion Television(RTV), he won the second prize by singing Don Mclean’s “American Pie”, then he signed a contract with RTV and began his career in the entertainment industry.

He was my teacher, I put him as my dear brother. I had attended his concert several times, learnt from him with patience and attitude towards work.

Mr. Tang has been his friend since he was very young and always helped him and supported his career which touched Leslie very much. They fell in love nearly 10 years and nobody knew it until January 4th , 1997, he announced his “coming out” ( 出柜 ) on his concert. He was not afraid of being talked at that time, because he believed the true love was boundless.
