Aviation contributes nearly 9% of both total state employment and total state outputAviation contributes 1.7 million jobsAviation’s $110.7 billion in output exceeds the Gross State Product of 23 of the 50 states

California air cargo was valued at $173 billion in 2000The San Francisco Customs District reported the value of goods flown through their airports in 2003 at $79.6 billion In 2003 the Los Angeles Customs District reported the value of goods flown through their airports was $235.0 billion

Aviation generated over $14.5 billion in tourist dollars to California in 2001California is the most visited state in the country—with 12% of the U.S. travel marketNearly half of all domestic tourists visiting from outside California travel by air
