• Training is an important and fundamental member service

• Training helps– develop better capabilities– improve knowledge and understanding– adopt BCPs in internet operational

technologies

• eLearning will help more members access this service

Why APNIC eLearning?

• Remote Access Survey, Dec. 2005– 86% of respondents supported development of

eLearning– Only 31% had attended an on-line course

• Making training more widely accessible – across time zones and geographic boundaries

• Complementing face-to-face training– On-line pre-requisite module frees up face-to-face

training sessions– Trainers can dedicate more time to more advanced

and practical skills training– The creation of simulations where technologies are not

available for training
