1. I mentioned a rumor (not confirmed) that TCU’s Business School (The Neeley School of Business) was implementing a new requirement for all new entrant to have MS Office certifications by their Sophomore year to get into the school.

2. If TCU is doing this or considering the assume the competition (UT/UTA/UNT/SMU etc and out of state colleges and maybe Junior Colleges might consider this of value and are considering doing the same in time.

of Microsoft Office by earning a Microsoft Office Specialist certification in a specific Office program.

Earning a Microsoft Office Specialist certification is a prerequisite to pursuing the higher-levels.

Ideas / Suggestion: Attend STEM Summer sessions at local universities. SMU has a engineering summer program for High School. Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth has one. These are great resources that encourage student to consider Science Technology Engineering and Math as career. Even if you don’t consider this a career path, technology is so pervasive that this investment helps you use it and understand it.

It is a great competitive edge! It keep all your options open.
