Adopted by ARB: Requires monitoring and responds to any unforeseen impacts in the Greenhouse Gas Cap & Trade regulation.

Identify sources and gather data

Analyze any adverse impacts

Take corrective action

What is Adaptive Management?

Adaptive Management Plan

Adopted by ARB Board Resolution 11-32, the plan requires:

ARB to collaborate with the local air districts to develop processes for evaluating potential adverse localized impacts.

Data be shared and reported in a public forum.

An annual report of the analysis.

Localized Air Quality Impacts

Monitor for environmental changes

Increases in criteria and toxic emissions

Collect data

Review data

Analyze and evaluate data

Provide air district expertise

Monitoring Process

CAPCOA-ARB Task Force

CAPCOA Engineering Managers subcommittee

was formed and a Joint Task Force with ARB

created.

• Formed in March 2013

• 10 local air districts are participating

Action Items

Develop a Mission Statement and a scope of work.

Develop the most efficient process

Participate in public workshops

Tentatively scheduled for Summer of 2013

Analyze the data for the annual report
