General Information

AfterMarket Custom Tailored seat covers will provide you with a reasonably priced seat cover to upgrade or replace your present interior. Although these are not the Original Factory Stock Sewn seat covers, they do provide a tailor made seat cover to fit your vehicle seats. There are some limitations to this style of seat cover (a) You must choose from one of the 4 Design Layouts that we offer (STANDARD – PREMIUM – CLASSIC - CLASSIC 2) and (b) Use any of the Standard Stock Materials which include - Dielectric Heat Sealed Vinyl or 2” Machine Quilted Cloth materials. Each material has its own assortment of colors - see pages 4 and 5. In certain interiors the design layout may be similar to your vehicle seats. Within each design choice you have options you can select to give your vehicle a "Custom Look". The installation process varies - you can cover over your existing seat cover or remove the originals. It will depend on the condition of the original seat that you are recovering. In some cases when the original seat covers are removed you may need to add some additional foam padding.

These seat covers will not come with the original type of tie downs (listings), pockets for wires or the special plastic clips that maybe on newer vehicles. Of course, we do add extra vinyl around the perimeter edges to allow you to Hog Ring the seat cover to the springs underneath the actual seats.

These seat covers are made for a permanent type of installation.

Installation Kits (Instructions/ Hog Ring Pliers/ Hog Rings) are included to complete your project.

How to price a seat cover –

Determine the DESIGN LAYOUT you wish to go with - Which material you would like to use for the MAIN Pleated Material Area and which color you will be using for the TRIM areas.

Main Material - Quilted Vinyl or 2” Machine Quilted Cloth Materials (See Page 5)

Trim Area – Smooth vinyl or cloth sections of the seats such as the side bands, backs of the seats and any Cap/Panels that you may add from one of our design choices. Trim Areas can be done in a contrasting color at no extra charge. (See Page 5)

Are you adding any extras – such as Horizontal Pleating, Headrest & Armrest covers that are actually part of the seat configuration see the Accessories & Extra Charge Prices (Page 2).

PLEATED VINYL’S

Pleated Vinyl’s come in three different types of heat sealed pleats. Each vinyl type has its own standard colors for that particular vinyl. All the colors come in smooth flat vinyl so that you can TWO-TONE your seats with various colors.

Single Pleated Vinyl A heavy-duty Madrid grain vinyl with 1 ½”

Dielectric heat-sealed padded pleat. The Pleats are evenly divided.

Double Pleated Vinyl A heavy-duty Oxen grain vinyl with 2”

SEAT REBUILD KITS

Seat Rebuild Instructions Tools needed: razor blade, 3M trim adhesive, Flathead screwdriver, Wire Cutters, Marker.

1" or 2" High Density Foam Kits Step (1) Remove your seat(s) from the vehicle.

Step (2) Remove all side trim, skirts and risers. Remove and note all screws for reassembly.

Step (3) Locate the bolts and/or hinges on the outside of the seat backrest and remove. Some seats use a clip style lock that can be removed with Flathead screwdriver. Once outer clip or bolt(s) is removed, the backrest can be separated from the cushion

Step (4) Once seats are removed place on bench, now the old covers can be removed. Depending on the year of the car, the covers will be stapled on or installed with hog rings. Remove staples with flathead screwdriver. To remove hog rings, use the wire cutter, pinch with a twisting motion.

Step (5) (Illustration 1) Strip frame of all padding and burlap so all springs are exposed. Check over springs and frames for broken welds or springs. Replace and weld if needed. (Note: tempered springs cannot be welded)

Step (6) Sandblast and paint frame at this time if wanted.

Step (7) (Illustration 2) Cut burlap 4” larger than the frame and use hog rings to attach about every 6” - 8" around the edge. Using the burlap acts as a foundation, preventing the new foam/cotton padding from pushing through.

Step (8) (Illustration 3) Cut the high density Foam Sheets 4-6” larger than the frame. Spray glue the seat/burlap area and foam and press it on so it overhangs the edges. This prevents the foam from moving during and after installation. Try to shape a nice rolled edge and corners.

Step (9) (Illustration 4) Roll out the Dacron Padding to overlap complete seat. Use trim adhesive on all the edges around seat and secure from the center out - front and rear, rolling and smoothing out.

Step (10) In order to insure that the seat cover is installed evenly on the frame, mark the center point of the seat frame once finished with marker. When installing cover match with cover center point
