1 - 24 SEPTEMBER 2017

Silver Arts advocates the meaningful possibilities seniors have in the arts.

Organised by the National Arts Council since 2012, Silver Arts is an annual festival that collaborates with artists, arts organisations and community partners to integrate the arts into the lifestyles of seniors. From performances to workshops,

seniors can showcase their creative talents through co-created content or learn a new skill, enhancing their overall well-being. The festival offers opportunities for seniors to share their

stories that shape our collective memories, and forge stronger inter-generational understanding.

Into its sixth edition, this year’s festival will take place over four weeks from 1 to 24 September 2017 island-wide. With an extensive line-up of arts programmes and activities, there will be something for everyone. Bring your parents, grandparents, family to enjoy and experience

this year’s festival offerings!

No Parking On Odd Days and The Coffin Is Too Big For The Hole are two of late theatre doyen Kuo Pao Kun’s most famous monologues. Both works have been staged in English and Mandarin numerous times since they were written in the mid-1980s. In this double bill, Nelson Chia—the artistic director of Nine Years Theatre—works with actors Hang Qian Chou and Tay Kong Hui to explore the cultural sentiments and grassroots sensibilities of these plays by staging them in Chinese dialects.
