Bobby attended Texas A&M University on a baseball scholarship and has earned Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees. He has been elected to Texas A&M Hall of Fame and the Rochester Red Wings Hall of Fame. As an All-American shortstop, Bobby was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 1978 and played professional baseball for seven years at both the Minor and Major League levels. It was in 1978 that Bobby was born again.

He retired from baseball, came to First Bible, worked at Northstar Christian Academy, trained for the ministry, and surrendered to Missions.

The Bonners have been missionaries since 1988 to the country of Zambia, Africa, sent from First Bible Baptist Church. They have been instrumental in helping to start over 100 churches in Zambia. Bobby also started the North Star Bible Institute

of Zambia and a Pastor Training Course (PTC) that trains nationals to reach their people with the gospel. Over 150 men have been trained for the gospel ministry. Bobby is the co-founder of IAM Ministries with the purpose of training nationals to train nationals.

Bobby has a passion for God and for the mission God has called us to; that passion comes out whenever he speaks.
