ln terms of Section 14(1) of the NCTE Act, 1993 MANGAYARKARASI EDUCATIONAL TRUST, 41, MANI NAGARAM MAIN ROAD, MADURAI — 625 001, TAMIL NADU had submitted an application to the Southern Regional Committee of NCTE for grant of recognition to ‘MANGAYARKARASI TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE, PARAVAI, MADURAI — 625102, TAMIL NADU for D.T.Ed. course of two , years duration from the academic session 2006-07 with an annual intake of 50 students.

2. On scrutiny of the application submitted by the institution, the documents , attached therewith and the input received from the visiting team, the Committee has noted the following:

a. The institution has acquired the land for setting up the teacher education institution.

b. The institution has constructed the building for conducting the course on the above mentioned land.

c. The institution has created an Endowment Fund of Rs.5 lakhs and a Reserve Fund of Rs. 3 lakhs.

d. The institution has selected the Principal and five lecturers for the said course.

5 Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested under Section 15(3)(a) of the NCTE Act, 1993, the Southern Regional Committee hereby grants recognition to MANGAYARKARASI TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE, PARAVAI, MADURAI - 625 402, TAMIL NADU for D.T.Ed. Coure of two years duration from the academic session 2006-2007 with an annual intake of 50 students subject to fulfillment of the following.

a. The institution will ensure that Principal and five faculty members duly approved by affiliating body are in position for an intake of Qstudents before commencement of the course and a report to this effect shall be sent to the Southern Regional Committee immediately and in any case not later than one month from the date of commencement of the course.

b. The institution shall, within one month of the receipt of recognition order, convert the Endowment fund account into a joint account to be operated along with an official of the Southern Regional Committee. c. The institution shall shift to its own premises / building within three years from the date of recognition. (in case the course is started in rented premises)

d. The institution shall comply with the various other norms and standards prescribed in the NCTE Regulations. Further, the recognition is subject to fulfillment of all such other requirements as may be prescribed by other regulatory bodies like the affiliating University, UGC, State Government etc.

The institution shall submit to the Regional Committee a Performance Appraisal Report at the end of each academic year along with a copy of the approval of the atfiliating University to the appointment of faculty members, and the statement of annual accounts duly audited by a Chartered Accountant.

If the institution contravenes any of the above conditions or any of the provisions of the NCTE Act, Rules, Regulations and Orders made or issued thereunder, the Regional Committee may withdraw the recognition under the Provisions of Section 17(1) of the NCTE Act, 1993,

WHEREAS in terms of Section 15(1) of the NCTE Act, 19_93 Mangayarkarasi Educational Trust, No.41, Mani Nagaram Main Road, Madurai-625001, Tamilnadu has submitted an application to the Southern Regional Committee of NCTE for grant of recognition to Mangayarkarasi Teacher Training Institute for Women, Paravai, Madhurai District-625402, Tamilnadu for Elementary D.T.Ed(Additional Intake) course of two years duration with an addtional intake of 50 (Fifty) Students.

2. AND WHEREAS on scrutiny of the application submitted by the institution, the documents attached therewith the affidavit and the input received from the visiting team in the form of report and videography, the Committee is satisfied

that the institution fulfills the requirements under the provisions of NCTE Act, Rules and relevant Regulations including the Norms and Standards for the said teacher education programme such as instructional facilities, infrastructural facilities, library, accommodation, financial resources, laboratories etc for running the programme and has appointed duly qualified teaching staff as per NCTE l'\OFlTlS.

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested under Section 14(3)(a) of the NCTE Adm, 1993, the Southern Regional Committee hereby grants recognition to Mangayarkarasi Teacher Training Institute for Women, Paravai, Madhurai District-625402, Tamitnadu for conducting Elementary D.T.Ed(Additional Intake) course of two years duration with an annual intake of 100(Hundred) students which includes the existing intake of 50(Fifty) and an additional intake of 50(Fifty) under clause 7(12) of Regulations dated.13.01.2006. This order of recognition shall be prospective and take effect from the date of issue of this order, subject to fulfillment of the following:

i) The institution shall, within one month of the receipt of recognition order, convert the endowment fund account into a joint account to be operated along with an official of the Southern Regional Committee.

ii) The institution shall comply with the various other norms and standards prescribed in the NCTE regulations, as amended from time to time.

iii) The institution will ensure that Principal and Five faculty members duly approved by DTERT, Chennai are in position for an intake of Q students before commencement of the course and a report to this effect shall be sent to the Southern Regional Committee immediately.

Further, the recognition is subject to fulfillment of all such other requirements as may be prescribed by other regulatory bodies like UGC, affiliating University /

bodies, State Government etc, as applicable.

The institution shall submit to the Regional Committee a Self-Appraisal Report at the end of each academic year along the statement of annual accounts duly audited by a Chartered Accountant.

The institution shall maintain & update the Web-site as per provisions of NCTE Regulations.
