Investigation2: Adjustthefansothatitisattachedtothecartbutblowsairtowardsthefrontofthe
cart(wherethesailis).Removethesailassembly(orpullthesailallthewayupsowhenyouturnonthefan,theairisnotblowingonthesail.Makeyourpredictionbeforeyouturnonthefanandobservewhathappens!
Investigation3: Replacethesailbackontothecart(ormovethesaildownthewoodendowel)and

LIGOConnection:LIGO’sinterferometerisverysensitivetoenvironmentalconditions.Everytime acarpushesonthegrounditacceleratestheground,whichacceleratespartsof
LIGO,causingthingslikethemirrorsinLIGOtostartaccelerating.That’swhyLIGOusesseismicisolationsystemsinordertokeeptheseforcesfromgettingtotheinterferometerparts(suchasthemirrors).Thereisevenanaction/reactionpairwiththelight!Whenthelightreflectsoffoftheendmirror,itactuallypushestheendmirrortheoppositedirection-justlikeaballhittingapendulum!
