Smoak had appeared in Seattles first 63 games of the season prior to missing the game on June 10. 63 games, he is hitting .208 (45x216) with 26 runs, 12 doubles, 7 home runs and 29 RBI this season.

    SAUNDERS ON REHAB ASSIGNMENT: OF Michael Saundersbegan his rehab assignment with AAA Tacoma on June 20. In 3 rehastarts with Tacoma, he is batting .417 (5x12) with 3 runs scored, 1 triple, 1 home run, 4 RBI and 1 walk. Saunders was placed on 15-dadisabled list with right shoulder inflammation following the game on June 11. He had appeared in 52 games with Seattle this seasobatting .272 (40x147) with 6 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs and 25 RBI. Saunders left the game June 6 after two at-bats, and had playe

    just one game since (June 10, 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts). In 16 games from May 16 to June 3, Saunders hit .368 (21-for-57) with 3 double2 triples, 3 home runs, 18 RBI and a .391 on-base percentage (1.040 OPS).

    HART ON REHAB ASSIGNMENT: OF Corey Hartbegan his rehab assignment with AAA Tacoma on June 21. In 2 rehab starts wTacoma, he is batting .375 (3x8). Hart, 32, was removed from May 18 vs. the Minnesota Twins with a strained left hamstring. He wevaluated by Mariners Medical Director Dr. Edward Khalfayan the following day in Seattle, where he was diagnosed with a grade hamstring strain. In 37 games this season Hart was batting .209 (29x139) with 5 doubles, 5 home runs and 17 RBI. He missed the enti2013 season after undergoing a pair of knee surgeries.

    COACHING STAFF: Roy Howellis the 29th manager in Tacoma franchise history. Howell is in his third season coaching in the Marineorganization after two seasons as the hitting coach at Class-A Advanced High Desert. His managerial resume includes 3 seasons at shoseason Eugene (2003-05), 3 seasons with San Luis of the California Collegiate League (2007-10) and one season leading the field staff fthe Road Warriors of the independent Atlantic League (2011).     ALL-STAR GAME RECAP: The California League All-Stars held a 3-0 lead after 4.0 innings and held on to defeat the Carolina League AStars 3-2 on Tuesday night. DH Gabriel Guerrerowas the lone Maverick on the California League All-Star team. He started at DH and h7th in the lineup, going 0-for-2 in the game.

    COACHING STAFF: The Mariners California League affiliate, the High Desert Mavericks, will be managed by Eddie Menchaca, who spethe previous 3 seasons with Clinton.
