� A key priority of Shell Philippines Exploration (SPEX) B.V. is on ContractorHealth, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSS&E) Managem ent

� The SPEX Contractors’ Safety Officers (CSOf) was establish ed last 28thJanuary, 2011 to look after HSS&E at the Frontline Workforce level

� CSOf is composed of SPEX Contractors’ HSSE Managers and Offi cers,each representing their own contractor organizations

� At the start of the year, SPEX CSOf and their respective Contr actorManagers are gathered, for the SPEX Asset Manager and Managi ngDirector to set expectations and discuss HSS&E Plans and Priorities

Alignment in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) approach, to achieve a common “positive” safety

culture amongst Shell Philippines Exploration (SPEX) B.V. Contractor organizations.

To utilize its members to form working groups and be “force multipliers” into closing system gaps;

� To support and participate in SPEX HSSE programs to achieve Goal ZERO – Incidents;

� Increase the profile of the CSOf Organization for them to improve their identity at the worksites;

� Build capability and capacity of the HSSE Officers;

� Encourage more interaction and information sharing among members;

� And promote camaraderie amongst members and influence positive change

SPEX Contractors’ Safety Officers (CSOf) Methods & Description

A SPEX CSOf Technical Working Group (TWG) wasestablished, to operationalize the steer from theSPEX Leadership Team and the Contractor Managers,for all the CSOf Members

SPEX CSOf meets in a monthly general assembly todiscuss updates on the plans and priorities, establishsuccessful practices’ sharing, and strategize on howto deliver the HSS&E programs and campaigns

Members of SPEX CSOf act as the “big brothers” oftheir wider organizations, to promote and encouragethe culture of HSS&E, with the ultimate objective ofembedding it in the hearts and minds of theirworkforce

SPEX CSOf participates in regular SPEX HSSELeadership Forums, to deliver performance updatesand status of the expectations from SPEX andContractor Managers, via two-way feedback
