My forty-four years of experience as a teacher, principal, and superintendent have convinced me that to best prepare today’s students for the future is to personalize learning that best ts the students needs, interests, and passions. Educators need to use data from formative assessments and student feedbac in real time to di erentiate instruction and provide robust supports and interventions so that every student remains on trac to graduation. It is also important that students and parents have real-time access to clear, transferable learning objectives and assessment results to better understand what is e pected for mastery and advancement, and provide support.
