Update From the Ikwerre People
Pray For Your People
PROJECT UPDATE theseedcompany.org
02 0301Give thanks to God for the
valuable help He supplies to this Bible translation project through
individuals, churches and those who pray and share His good gifts with
the faithful workers.
The former chairman of the Ikwerre language committee sadly passed
away. Ask the Lord to provide another leader who is passionate
about Scripture for the Ikwerre. Pray for God’s will.
Ask the Lord to use His Word to draw many people to faith in Him. Pray that
He’ll enable believers to grow into mature Christians willing to serve Him
in local churches.
Isaiah 64:6 in Ikwerre“Kpakara ayị bụ ele zịla rịchna n’anya ị, kpakara nhne ọma a neeme nụ lele nkụkara ikpe gbụru rune, lele kpa ruwhere noovugharị ọkwukwo kpọru ọkpo, ọ bụ kpa mmehie ayị noovume ayị.”
“We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind.” (NLT)
True Brothers?Scripture molds and shapes people’s lives. The Ikwerre team members see the effects of the Bible translation almost daily. One of them reports that a man in his Sunday school class made a comment as the group was studying the life of Joseph in the Book of Genesis.
The man said, “We shouldn’t call Joseph’s brothers his brothers. True brothers don’t sell their brother or friend for any reason. Hatred and jealousy is terrible.”
Words of HopeThe Bible translation work has brought hope and a reason for living despite trials and hardship. An 80-year-old man lost his first son in August. The grieving father held onto God’s promises as he read from the Ikwerre New Testament. He testified of his own hope to see his son again, since he’d died in the Lord. He said, “I won’t give up.”

A grieving father said, “I won’t give up.” He testified to his hope for reunion with his deceased son, since both are believers.
The illustrated Bible series, The Wonderful Plan of God, book one, “The Beginning of Everything” (selections from Genesis), was recently printed in Ikwerre.
Learning the true meaning of Isaiah 53 was a real eye opener for the local Scripture reviewers and those involved in team checking.
