Commercial, industrial and public establishmentsIn libraries, retail establishments or hotels, there are alternatives to tiles, linoleum and rubber coverings: floor coatings offer interesting appearances, are robust, seamless, economical and are a must when footfall sound needs to be reduced. Product systems which are tested in accordance with the Federal Environment Agency's latest standards additionally help to keep room air free of contaminants.

StoCretec coatings based on polyure-thane or aqueous epoxy resins have been tested by the TÜV Technical Control Board and meet the test criteria for VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Emissions in accordance with the rating system of the AgBB (Committee for health-related evalua-tion of building products).

IndustryThousands of square metres of flooring are coated each year in production and/or storage areas of industrial enterprises. This includes both new flooring and the renovation of existing surfaces. The scope of applications for industrial flooring is as diverse as industry itself. The prop-erties required of a floor coating are correspondingly varied. The mechani-cal effects of transport vehicles have to be taken into account, particularly in areas where storage, packaging or order-picking operations are carried out, for example.

Production areas generally represent a major challenge for flooring. In add-ition to mechanical stress, such areas may also be exposed here to thermal stress, chemical stress or they may be required to possess an electrostatic discharge capability, for example.

BalconiesBalconies are among the most sensi-tive parts of a building. Their exposed location makes them particularly susceptible to weather influences such as heat, water, frost and ultra-violet radiation. In addition, they are subject to various types of stress in daily use.

High-quality coating systems from StoCretec keep balconies attractive and in good working order on a las-ting basis. Depending on the require-ments, thin or thick-layer systems; sealings with water lacquers, or acrylate dispersions are employed. All these systems combine high product quality with functional versatility.

These product systems are com- plemented by well-balanced colour concepts and attractive design options.

Parking decksMulti-storey and underground car parks vary greatly in terms of size, shape and stress levels. The spectrum ranges from single-storey under-ground car parks in apartment houses to vast parking complexes at airports. The requirements for car park coat-ings are highly diverse, according to the area of use. Customised solutions are required, tailored to the location and condition of the floor surface and the wear to which it is exposed.

StoCretec has been a leading supplier of floor coatings for multi-storey car parks and underground car parks for decades. StoCretec‘s high-tech sys-tems have been tried and tested on millions of square metres of flooring.

Clean roomsProduction under "clean" conditions is becoming ever more important for sectors such as the semiconductor and optical industries or in the fields of medical and bio-technology, in order to prevent products from be-coming contaminated with micro-scopic particles in the room air, lea-ding to high reject rates and impaired quality. On the initiative of the Fraun-hofer Institut für Produktionstechnik und Automatisierung (IPA), Stuttgart, an industrial alliance has been estab-lished with the aim of championing "Cleanroom Suitable Materials”. The test methods developed by this alli-ance confirm the suitability of materi-als for clean room applications. As an "Industrial Alliance Member", StoCretec and Sto have developed suitable, tested materials for coating floors, walls and ceilings.

Substrate preparation - a solid footing, whatever the challengesFloor coatings require a sound base. Careful preparation of the mineral substrate and subsequent application of an appropriate primer provide the necessary foundation. The primer serves to ensure adhesion between substrate and coating.

Compatibility with the substrate is assured at all times: standard cement screed, anhydrite, magnesium oxychloride or mastic asphalt – the appropriate StoCretec primer always ensures excellent adhesion. Even substrates subject to rising damp, proble-matic oil contamination or worn old coatings can be coated with the right primer from StoCretec.

Solid bonds for solid floors.Primers ensure a homogeneous base for subsequent coatings. A uniformly good bond between coating and mineral substrate must be ensured over the entire floor surface.

Primers can often do more than this, however. A case in point is the low-emission standard primer StoPox GH 205. Suitable for all subsequent industrial floor coatings, this product can even be used when there is a danger of exposure to moisture from the rear. Corresponding test reports provide the necessary assurance.

StoCretec floor coatings stand for technical and economical solutions – for repairing damaged floor surfaces, adapting flooring to new usages or when laying new floors. Coatings to protect flooring from mechanical stress in the form of impacts, point loading, distributed loading and abrasion. Coatings for floors exposed to chemicals in the form of oil, fuel, cleaning agents, salts, acids and bases.

StoCretec floor coatings combine extensive product benefits with simple, economical application and the very highest levels of environmental compatibility. An all-rounder for industrial flooring.Industrial floor coatings are subject to diverse requirements. Mechanical, chemical and thermal stress are the most common problems they address, however. The scope of requirements is broadened further by legal stipu-lations relating to water conservation, slip resistance or electrostatic dis-charge capability for example. Sto-Cretec floor coatings create seamless and smooth surfaces. Colour chips sprinkled into the coating open up broad scope for creative ideas. Origi-nal patterns and artistic designs are simple to produce.

The gloss epoxy resin coating StoPox BB OS is an all-rounder – the ideal product for use on surfaces subject to medium levels of mechanical stress. It is also resistant to chemicals and free of silicone. This ensures compatibility with paints, making it suitable for use in the automobile industry, for example. The diverse range of applications is confirmed by a wealth of test certificates.

The fruits of experience.StoCretec has been developing and marketing water-based floor sealings on an epoxy resin base for coating mineral substrates for many years. These sealings are ideal for coating floor surfaces which are exposed to low to medium levels of wear. They serve equally well to restore the func-tionality and appearance of worn old coatings.

Today, diffusion-open water lacquers such as StoPox WL 100 can be ap-plied either manually or by means of an airless device. The latter alternative results in economical application times and produces an outstanding gloss finish. StoPox WL 100 is also solvent-free, silicone-free and resistant to plasticisers.

Tried and tested technology – in an electrically conductive variant, too: The satin gloss water lacquer StoPox WL 113 seals conductive epoxy resin coatings and can be used directly on top of mineral substrates. StoPox WL 113 meets the require-ments of the system test "System resistance person-shoe-floor" and the "Walking test" (DIN EN 61340-5-1). And it goes without saying that this water lacquer is also diffusion-open, solvent-free, silicone-free and plasti-ciser-resistant.

Lasting protection.Sealings on a polyurethane resin base provide an ideal means of protection for new floor coatings in particular. The protected flooring retains its appearance and functionality over a prolonged period. In addition to pro-tecting newly coated surfaces, such sealings are also the perfect remedy for old coatings in need of a "face-lift". StoCretec offers a wealth of different products in this area, provid-ing ideal solutions for a whole range of different requirements.

Water-based polyurethane resin sealings such as StoPur WV 100, StoPur WV 150, StoPur WV 200 and StoPur WV 205 transparent possess a high degree of photostability and combine good wear resistance with easy cleaning properties. The colou-red products differ only with regard to their finish: gloss, silk matt and matt.
