    This Overview gives information needed by project managers and foremen, forpresentation to the customer and for site planning.

    1 Overview

    1.1 Presentation

    Use this scenario to change AC powered MBO to DC powered MBO. Heatersand service light and socket remain AC powered.

    1.2 PrerequisitesThe following specific information (inputs) is needed to complete the scenario:

    All items required by this operation are available

    All tools required by this operation are available.

    1.3 Scheduling

    This procedure can be performed for a MBO found in a store room or for aalready installed MBO that must be switched OFF.

    1.3.1 Human Resources

    Two persons are required to perform this task.

    1.3.2 Duration

    40 minutes + optional 30 minutes to remove the batteries and battery breaker.

    1.4 Telecom / Supervision Outage

    If the equipment integrated into network it must be stopped and powered OFF.

    All telecommunication resources are lost.

    1.5 Resources

    1.5.1 Tools

    The following table lists the tools to be used to complete the task.

    2 Scenario

    2.1 Replace AC Power Items

    2.1.1 Open the MBO Roof

    Note: When removing the roof refer also to labelling at front of roof. For safety

    conditions, it is recommended to handle the roof by two installers.

    To open the top roof:

    1. Open the front doors of the MBO

    2. Remove the four screws at front of rack

    3. Locate the two hinges at rear of rack

    4. Open the top roof about 20

    5. Push it a little to rear to engage bolt in cut-out

    6. Remove the rear of roof from the bolt of hinges

    7. Remove the top roof from the rack.

    2.1.2 Switch OFF the MBO

    To switch OFF the MBO:

    1. Switch OFF the site power breaker

    2. Switch OFF the battery breaker if equipped

    3. Switch OFF F3 to F5 breakers on ACMU panel.

    2.1.3 Remove the PM 12 Modules

    To remove the PM12 modules:

    1. On ADAM4 remove the blue cable from the -48V clamp

    2. On ADAM4 remove the black cable from the 0V clamp

    3. Remove the black cable from the BOMU grounding stud

    4. If batteries are equipped remove the the blue cable from the BATT. -48Vclamp

    5. If batteries are equipped remove the the black cable from the 0V clamp

    6. Remove the power cables from the PM12 modules

    7. Attach the power cables to the upright using cable ties

    8. Loosen the screws fixing the PM12 modules and remove the modulesfrom the STASR

    9. Loosen the screws fixing the ADAM4 and remove the ADAM4 from theSTASR

    10. Loosen the screws fixing the subrack and remove the subrack.

    2.1.4 Option: Remove the Batteries

    To remove the batteries:

    1. Loosen the screws fixing battery cover and remove the cover

    2. Remove gas-hose from batteries (be careful, Batteries and T- connectorsare fragile. Use hot air blower to soften gas-hoses)

    3. Remove the caps from the pole pins of battery

    4. On (+) terminal at the right lower battery, remove the nut/screw, disconnectthe cable that goes to the circuit breaker and the temperature sensor cable

    5. On (-) terminal at the left upper battery disconnect the cable that goes tothe circuit breaker

    6. Remove the electrical jumpers between the elements of battery

    7. Remove all elements of battery

    8. Loosen the screws fixing the battery breaker and remove the breaker

    9. Fit back the battery cover and fix it with the screws

    10. Loosen the screws fixing the battery breaker and remove the breaker.

    2.2 Install the DC Power Items

    2.2.1 Connect the Circuit Breaker

    In the following description, connection position is given referring to the backview of the circuit breaker.

    To connect the cables to the circuit breaker:

    1. Connect the SCBL1 blue cable (3BK 26646 AAAA) to the circuit breakertop left position

    SCBL1(Blue)

    SCBL2(Blue)

    SCBK3(Variant AAAA

    Black)

    SCBK3(Variant ABAA

    2. Connect the SCBL2 blue cable (3BK 26647 ABAA) to the circuit breakerbottom left position

    3. Connect the SCBK3 black cable (3BK 27841 AAAA) to the circuit breakertop right position

    4. Connect the SCBK3 black cable (3BK 27841 ABAA) to the circuit breakerbottom right position.

    5. Fit the edge protection on the upper part of the upright

    6. Install the circuit breaker on the top of the MBO. Fix it with the M5 screws orM5 nuts, depending on MBO variant.

    2.2.2 Connect the Cables to the X9 Clamp

    To connect the cables to the X9 clamp:

    1. Fit the clamp 1AB 07331 0007 to the angle 3BK 26676 AAAA

    2. Connect the blue cable (3BK 26647 ABAA) to the X9 clamp left part

    3. Connect the blue cable coming from BOMU to the X9 clamp right part

    4. Connect the clamp to the rack

    5. Connect the SCBK3 black cable (3BK 27841ABAA) to the BOMU 0Vgrounding stud.

    2.2.3 Install the DC IN Filter

    To install the DC IN filter:

    1. Remove the cap closing the hole for DC IN filter

    2. Remove the nut from the filter

    3. Run the filter through the hole from inside the MBO

    4. Fix the filter by tightening the nut. Make sure that the sealin gring is incorrect position. See detail in Figure 3.

    5. Remove the nuts and washers from the DC IN filter end and 0V groundingstud

    6. Run the SCBL1 blue cable (3BK 26646 AAAA) through the rubber cap

    7. Connect the SCBL1 blue cable (3BK 26646 AAAA) to the lower part of theDC IN filter and fix it with the screw and washer.

    Make sure that the cable is oriented towards the back side not towardsthe door side.

    8. Fit the rubber protective cap to the lower end of the DC IN filter

    9. Connect the SCBK3 black cable (3BK 27841 AAAA) to the grounding studinside the MBO and fix it with the screw and washer

    2.2.4 Connect the DC IN Cables

    To connect the DC IN cables:

    1. Crimp terminal lugs on both DC IN cables at site side

    2. Run the blue cable coming from site distribution panel through the rubberprotective cap

    3. Connect the -48V blue cable coming from site distribution panel to the DC INfilter and fix it with screw and washer.

    Make sure that terminal lugs are fixed as shown in the following figure.

    4. Fit the rubber protective cap to the upper end of the DC IN filter

    5. Connect the 0V black cable coming from site distribution panel to the DCIN grounding stud

    6. Fit the labels on the MBO top side

    The following picture shows the final arrangement of installed items andcables.

    7. Close the MBO roof

    Follow the reverse procedure from Open the MBO Roof (Section 2.1.1) toclose the MBO roof.

    8. Close the front doors of the MBO.
