To whom it may concern,

My wife and I would like to construct a detached garage on our property in Arnold Maryland. Ourneighborhood is in Magothy Shores. Magothy Shores is an older community consisting of a vast varietyof home construction, design and visual aesthetics. Several neighboring properties have either attachedor detached garages. The size, construction and location of such garages vary as well.

We are seeking relief to allow for an exception to the setback requirements of 7 feet. The set back reliefwe are requesting is for one side of the property, the south side. The request is to allow for the garageto start at 3 feet versus the 7-foot requirement. The reason we are asking for this variance is to minimizedisruption to our existing parking pad, sidewalks, irrigation and arbor. Additionally, the parking inMagothy Shores, specifically on Mill Creek rd. is a challenge. Our lot sizes are very small (50 feet or less)and parking overall is very limited for every homeowner. From a visual aesthetics perspective placementof the garage to one side will allow for a more consistent curb appeal with other neighboring properties.

There are at least 4 neighboring properties on the same side of the street in which their garages are wellinside of 7 feet and some even just 2 feet off the line. I have provided at least 3 addresses to provideexamples. Photos will also be provided to support
