Why does your team need a glue guy?
I’m not talking office supplies. I’m talking about a key player whose te-nacity, creativity, consistency and leadership holds the team together in the clutch and makes stellar performances possible. He advocates hid-den potential and inspires excellence from everyone. He doesn’t need to score all the points, but he makes sure the team scores the win. I am that glue. I am that guy.
I’m a writer, so I’ve always got multiple book ideas or crazy projects sim-mering at any one time. Here are a few of the things I’m working toward. right now.
• I love the process of collaborating with people and using words to give shape and texture to their visions. Working as a professional writer has only reinforced the realization the only way to grow my skill as a writer is to increase my output. Personal projects help maintain this pressure.
• I’m a passionate game designer, I actually spend more time devel-oping ideas for new table-top and video games than actually playing existing games. I plan to establish a game publishing company as a platform to release them.
• I’ve finished the rough draft of a book on giving and receiving con-structive feedback. I plan to publish this independently in the next year.
• I’m currently publishing a blog that serves as an outlet for my insatia-ble curiosity. Each post is titled with a question and for the next 300 or so words I focus on that single question. I’d like to see this blog grow and feature questions from other significant creatives.
• I’ve been studying leadership for more than 15 years. I love dissect-ing the psychology of organzational structures and how to make them run better.
