In 2015, our Leadership began to have conversations about the future direction of our church both in terms of ministry focus and facility needs. In 2016, those conversations were revealed through our “Building A Legacy” missional campaign.

This campaign outlines three ministry objectives: reaching the entire family, effective communication of God’s Word, and furthering our burden and care for others. Out of these objectives, we feel it’s critical to develop a better leadership structure, practice systematic giving, and expand and renovate our current facility.

We are excited to see how God will continue to show his faithfulness to each of us as we participate in sacrificial giving over the three year campaign timeline. Our expansion estimate stands at $1.2M and with our current debt, we hoped to raise $1.65M. Currently, over $1,130,000 has been pledged to help us achieve our ministry and facility goals.

Frontier Global Missions ... Last week, missionaries Ian & Erin Maclay shared what God is doing in their training and ministry with the refugees they are working with in Georgia. If you are interested in partnering with them, email emaeevans@gmail.com.

Mobile Food Pantry… Thank you to all who helped distribute food at last week’s Mobile Food Pantry. Our next MFP will be July 13.

Flushing Christian Outreach Center ... As you grocery shop during the month of June, consider picking up some cans of fruit to donate to the FCOC. Your generous donations can be dropped off in our church entry or taken directly to the FCOC (on McKinley north of Main).

Prayer Walk ... This Wednesday, June 22, we'll gather in Riverview Park at 7pm. We will then proceed through downtown as we join together in prayer for our community. Our walk will conclude at Cops & Robbers for ice cream and fellowship. All are welcome!

Summer Worship Schedule ... Beginning July 3, we will be offering one worship service at 10:30am through September 4th.

Join us at Family Camp Meeting ... Each summer, friends from all over the Eastern Michigan District gather for Camp Meeting at Water’s Edge Camp in Howell. This special week (July 24-31) offers something for every age group (activities, Bible studies, worship services and more). Learn more at www.watersedgecamp.org. We will be taking our bus to Camp Meeting on Sunday (24th - leaving at 4pm), Tuesday (26th - leaving at 6pm) and Thursday (28th - leaving at 6pm). Please sign up to let us know you will join us!

The Potter and The Clay ... Is a special summer class taught by Dori DeVuyst looking at the power of shaping clay in our spiritual formation. It will take place on Wednesdays, July 13, 20, and 27 at The Oak from 7-8 pm. More details are coming!

Vacation Bible School ... VBS is coming August 8-11 and takes a great amount of preparation and hard work! If you love to make snacks, play games, act a little goofy, work with crafts or even work behind the scenes, please see Darcy Smith or Tori Harris to get involved.

Building Use... We are entering a very busy time of the year for building rentals. Check the building calendar found on our website to make sure the room you want is available on the desired day and time.

Opportunity for Baptism ... Baptism Sunday will be August 7. If you are interested in being baptized, it is never too earlier to start having a conversation with our pastoral team.

Kid City … “Navigator” is our lesson that will be looking at how Barnabas sticks up for Paul in Acts 9. Our bottom line is “The story of Jesus changes how I see others.” Our memory verse is Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being sure of what we do not see."

Club 56... We are continuing our study of Ephesians chapter 6 and looking at the full armor of God. Today: “Helmet of Salvation.”

VBS Planning Preparation ... Our VBS will be using an Olympic theme to share the Good News with children this August. See Tori Harris to learn more and get involved!

Next Sunday is Promotion Sunday ... We will be honoring our new Kindergarten friends as well as our 6th graders who will be entering into the youth group. If you have not submitted pictures of your 6th graders to Darcy, please do so ASAP. There will be a special luncheon for our 6th graders and their families immediately after service. Please RSVP with Darcy today!

Movie Time ... We will be going to see “Finding Dory” on Wednesday, June 29 at Rave-Flint West. Save the date - show times will be released soon!
