Provide advice to primary care and other FYPC professionals regarding child and adolescent mental health issues for the 0-18 year age group.

These virtual wards are split across five teams within Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The post will be at Coalville Community Hospital, however there is potential for local inpatient rotation in the future across Coalville and Loughborough Community Hospitals. The Trust are also in the process of developing wider Band 5 rotations to the Community, MSK outpatients and the Pulmonary Rehab Service.

The successful candidate will:

Hold a Degree in Physiotherapy Be registered with the HCPC Have a minimum of 6 months recent NHS experience/understanding either pre or

post qualification (recent experience is within last 3 years) Have a broad base of knowledge and experience in Physiotherapy Be able to prioritise and manage their own Band 5 caseload. Have excellent communication skills. Have the ability to work sensitively and effectively, building therapeutic relationships

with patients and their carers. Be able to work well individually, and as part of the multi-disciplinary team, and with

other agencies. Be able to carry out moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day. Have evidence of, and be committed to their continuing professional development. Be flexible to meet the needs of the service. Be able to drive and have access to a car or suitable alternative.

You will have support from an experienced integrated therapy team, including a Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Team Lead. Peer supervision and in service training are encouraged, and carried out on a regular basis. You will have an annual appraisal and access to senior supervision. There is also the opportunity to

You will be responsible for the development of the Early Years pathways and undertake regular reviews through audits, service user feedback and service evaluation to ensure efficient and evidenced based practice. 

You will gain support and supervision in order to continue to develop your Occupational Therapy skills with children and young people. You will be responsible for supervision and support of qualified staff, support staff and students. We encourage continuous professional development through both internal and external training as part of the Personal Development Plan process. 

You need to be able to demonstrate an understanding of working in a community setting, the complexities of working within a family and a multidisciplinary multiagency environment, be familiar with children’s equipment and their use and be skilled in the delivery of a number of assessment tools and interventions used by occupational therapists in community children’s services. In addition you will need to exhibit leadership skills and qualities with excellent verbal, written communication and presentation abilities.

Full timeThe Eating Disorders Service is a well-established secondary service with an international reputation. There is a large outpatient service and an inpatient unit which offers an intensive care programme, including a Day Programme for patients across the East Midlands with low weight Anorexia Nervosa. We are seeking to recruit a Band 5 nurse, qualified as either a RMN or RGN for our inpatient unit based at Langley Ward in the Bennion Centre on the Glenfield General Hospital Site. Patients referred for inpatient treatment are at low weight and have a high degree of physical and psychiatric co-morbidity. Experience of working with patients with eating disorders is desirable.

The post holder would be required to contribute to the smooth operational running of the ward and to deliver all aspects of the intensive care programme for anorexia nervosa for patients at various stages of recovery. This would include supervision of meals, assisting patients with meal planning, and providing emotional support with management of weight and eating difficulties. The post holder would be required to effectively manage the high degree of physical and psychiatric risk associated with this patient group. The post holder would also be required to participate in the effective operational running of the Day Programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable person, with good interpersonal and team working skills. We are looking for an individual who is capable of delivering a service of the highest possible quality. The post holder would be required to work within our multi-disciplinary team.

Medical management for patients is provided by Advanced Nurse Practitioners with a specialist Consultant visiting on a twice weekly basis and GP cover in the out of hours period.The Service line consists of 12 in-patient wards across 8 sites and 5 ICS ‘wards’ with 256 virtual beds across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. There is also a Primary Care Coordination service working from the main acute site at University Hospitals Leicester that supports the prevention of admission and facilitates timely discharge from acute into community services.

The successful candidate will be joining a team of nursing and therapy Matrons who work together alongside acute health, mental health, social care and voluntary organisations to ensure patients receive high quality care in the most appropriate setting to meet their needs. The focus is to support the nursing and therapy teams to deliver the best possible experience for patients, relatives and carers. They will work effectively in the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality mental health assessments, treatment programs and manage risk. This work will involve patients and their carers in the delivery of evidence based interventions/treatments, recovery focused work. You will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to high quality care as well as possessing good therapeutic and interpersonal skills. The post holder will be required to work autonomously as well as within the MDT and other settings.

You will visit people in their own homes and communities as well as running clinics at the team base and other community venues. The team serves a rural population requiring travel across county towns and villages including Market Harborough and Lutterworth. You will have a strong sense of initiative, excellent team working ability and be an excellent communicator. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of high level nursing interventions and community assessment skills. Qualifications or a willingness to undertake training relevant to the post is expected. You will have experience of post-registration work, ideally with this client group.
