BiographyTess Marique Oostwouder (1995) is a Dutch soprano, currently studying at Utrecht Conservatory with Dobrinka Yankova. Her passion for music, singing and classical ballet was apparent from a young age. When she was twelve years old, she participated in a professional touring production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’.

Tess took lessons and followed masterclasses with Deborah York, Charlotte Margiono, Tania Kross, Johannette Zomer, Peter Kooij, Marcel Beekman, Janet Williams, Peter Bording, Aldert Vermeulen,

Tess regularly organizes classical concerts with various ensembles, including with harpist Colet Nierop. Tess is a much sought-after soloist for oratorio. She sang the St. John’s Passion and Hohe Messe of Bach, Gloria in D of Vivaldi, Messe in Es-dur of Schubert, various cantatas by Telemann, Bach and Scarlatti and many other oratorio works in concert halls and churches in the Netherlands. Besides oratorio, she also sings opera and operetta, veering smoothly between the various style periods.

Over the last few years, Tess has sung in the choirs of Aïda by Verdi, Fidelio by Beethoven, L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti, and Un ballo in maschera by Verdi, and as a soloist in Les Indes Galantes by Rameau (role: Fatime), Gloria in D by Vivaldi, St John Passion by J.S. Bach, Hear my prayer by Mendelssohn and Brockes Passion by Keiser.

Beside her singing career, Tess studies Biology, Food & Healthfulness.
