If you ever find yourself travelling in the George, Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Langkloof areas, whether it be on holiday or business, take some time out and treat yourself to a trip to K’Buku Mountain Lodge, Pub and Grill. If you see the sign below on a lovely winding gravel road consider yourself one of the privileged few who have found K’Buku. to do and see on all of the access roads to K’Buku which makes travelling around here so special.

K’Buku Mountain Lodge Pub & Grill is on a farm in a picturesque valley called the Klein Langkloof which follows the path of the Keurbooms River, adjacent to the western end of the famous Route 62 Langkloof.

Weekends in particular is their busy time and you can expect to bump into adventure riders, off-road enthusiasts and generally a like-minded bunch of people who prefer riding or driving off

the beaten track, looking for different and interesting places just like this one and then some local regulars who spice up the entertainment levels too.

K’Buku Pub

That’s the pub area in the pictures above which also incorporates a pizza oven, an indoor braai, various outside braais as well as a spit-braai area. Down at the abode is Pierre’s private braai room and if you spend a night or two, you will be privy to his man cave.

Here at K’Buku you find a unique blend of social entertainment and hospitality that one would have to look long and hard to find a more inviting spot to spend a day or two.

The farming enterprise comprises of some goats, sheep and cows, as well as a thriving firewood industry.

If you spend the night, you may just be greeted by the sheep or goats being herded past in the early morning and in the evening the dogs will be first to give you a friendly hallo when they come back from their woodcutting chores.

Sunrise from the pool deck overlooking the valley is therapeutic beyond anything money can buy in the cities and in the summer the pool cools you down after a long day of walking, hiking, quadbike riding, exploring or enjoying a lazy-day farm chill.

There is talk of a caravan park sometime in the not too distant future and that will add another dimension to an already jam-packed things-to-do list at this gem of a farm.

So, whether you are going to make K’Buku your holiday destination or your over-night stop to your destination, be sure to add in another day or two to your holiday/travel itinerary because you will not want to leave in a hurry.
