We would like to give you a taste of our country, from urban Oslo and its surroundings to the country- side and mountains of the Valdres valley. invite 12 young people from all over the world to a

“Capital and country” Summer Camp Norway 2017!

We would like to give you a taste of our country, from urban Oslo and its surroundings to the country-side and mountains of the Valdres valley. You will learn about Rotary – but first and most important: You will get new international friends!

During the camp we will challenge you with new experiences, and we hope you can contribute to an exciting camp with skills and knowledge from your own culture! You should have a positive attitude towards outdoor life, and you should bring good walking shoes/boots. A more detailed program and suggestions for clothing will be provided to the selected campers in advance.

Facts about the campDates: Arrival 30th of July, departure 10th of August

Participants: 12, preferably 6 girls and 6 boys, one from each country, age 18-20 years (born 1997 to 1999)

Arrival/Departure: The participants will be met by Rotarians at the Gardermoen airport, Oslo, or at the Oslo Central Station

Rough camp program: The first part of the camp will contain sightseeing in Oslo and experiencing everyday life in a host family. For a

long weekend you will go to a camp at the seaside close to Oslo with lots of water and outdoor activities. We finally take you to the mountains of southern Norway where hiking, biking and other social activities are planned.

Cost: A fee of 100 Euros will be required upon arrival. Travel expenses to Norway, pocket money and insurance must be paid by the participants.

Accomodation: First week in host families. The last week the accommodation will be at a camp in huts/tents. Toilets, shower and sleeping bags available.

Insurance: The participants must be insured against illness, accidents and third party damages. No insurance is provided by the camp

Language and food: English language and standard European/Norwegian food

Application: Obtain the application form at your national Rotarys home page.

Fill in your personal data and obtain signatures from your local Rotary club and District Youth Exchange Officer (DYEO). The DYEO should send the application (in PDF format) to Vivianne Jodalen, national STEP coordinator Norway, before the 31st of March
