Dear ParentsWe wish you and your children a very a happy summer vacations .It’s time to enjoy and create a bond with family, friends and relatives. To utilize the time in the most constructive way we have prepared plans A,B,C,D for our children of Pre -Primary based on the principles of ‘learning by doing’ for their holistic development.

Plan –A

1. Go Green: Collect the seeds of mango, jamun and jackfruit and spread them in a park, garden or roadside when you go outside the house.2. Cooking without fire: Share and make simple recipes of shakes, sandwiches with your child.3. Play time: To inculcate the feeling of sportsmanship play various indoor games like ludo, snakes and ladders carom etc. Fun with ball (catch, throw and bounce) 4. Cleanliness: Let your child be aware of cleaning and managing belongingness and surroundings.5. Meditation: Meditate for 2-3 minutes on daily basis.

Read the following books and encourage your child to see the TV serials mentioned below throughout the year to improve their reading and listening skills and enhance their knowledge and vocabulary.

1. Writing Skills: Complete pages 14,15 in the English book.2. Practice all the covered alphabets in a 3 in 1 notebook.3. Revise the sight words covered in the school.4. Help the children speak the alphabets by their sounds .For example: a says , b says ,c says , d says etc.(Phonic chart is attached , give the practice of the same daily.)Encourage your child to form new words by joining the sounds.5. Make your child write the covered swars and vayanjans in a 3 in 1 notebook. Help them to write the same with correct formations.

6. Practise writing counting 1-20 in a three in one notebook. Make your child do exercises like join the dots, what comes after/before/between? etc for the recognition of numbers.

1. Show and Tell: Choose any one object from your surroundings and let the child speak a few lines on it .for example: This is a ball. It is a big ball. I play with it.etc.

2. Make two cutouts of any two fruits or two vegetables of your child’s choice on a A-4 size sheet. Write its name in BOLD.

3. Making a Word box : Take a shoe box, decorate and fill it up with the new words that your child learns to read. A child can be introduced to one or two words everyday and they can be written on a strip of a chart paper of the same size. Let the child feel proud of the same words that he/she has learnt to read after every week.

4. Help your child make a A-4 size folder with old newspapers. Decorate it and compile the holiday homework in it.

Plan D

1. Mothers are requested to help the child make ice cream cake and decorate the cake with gems, chocolates for their father’s on Father’s Day which is on 19th of June.

2. During your vacation, plan a picnic, an outstation trip or visit a relative. Make your outing enjoyable and don’t forget to capture the beautiful memories in a camera. Paste pictures of your family outing on a A-4 size sheet. Help the child decorate the sheet with decorative material.

3. Encourage your child to help at home .Ask him to fill water bottles, knead the dough, lay the table, clear up their room and put the things at an appropriate place. Involve them in the household work as much as possible. Suggested internet sites to visit :
