St. Croix Montessori provides a solid academic curriculum through an individualized interdisciplinary approach to education in a nurturing, respectful environment. During these years, all subjects and facets of learning are interrelated. With growing confidence in themselves and increased ability to concentrate, the children move toward inner discipline - emotionally, intellectually, and socially.

Our current elementary program is comprised of one multi age class. At the elementary level the children work together, communicate, cooperate, and learn to participate in the ongoing work of developing themselves to their fullest potential. Our environment allows for a variety of learning styles and abilities. Younger children are inspired, motivated, and aided by their older classmates. The older children serve as role models, and gain self-confidence, self-esteem, and reinforced academic skills. Each child spends at least three years in the class, which forms a strong sense of community among the children and their teachers.

Children transferring into our school from a non-Montessori setting are accepted after successful completion of an in-school visit and on a month trial basis to ensure the child’s proper adjustment into a Montessori program. Should you place your child in our school, we encourage you to recognize the need for a long-term commitment to Montessori in order for your child to gain the full benefit of the three-year cycle.
