What is a Bibliography? A Bibliography is a list of sources that you used for a research project. It is often a combination of websites and some books.

Why do I need one? Whenever you are using someone else’s information / work, you must say where it came from. This is to avoid plagiarism.

Do I need one even if I have changed the text into my own words? Yes! It is still not your original information.

INSTRUCTIONS:

How do I make a Bibliography?

For a website:

1. Create a Microsoft Word document that has “Bibliography” written as a title at the top center of the page.

2. Go to www.easybib.com

3. Copy and paste your website URL in the box that says “Cite this”

4. Click the “Cite this” button

5. If the website information comes up: Select it and go to step 6.

If the website information does not come up, fill in the blanks as best you can. Then click the “Create Citation” button.

6. Copy and paste the “Bibliography” information into your Microsoft Word document. Remember to put multiple entries in alphabetical order. This is done using the authors’ last names for books and the titles for websites. See “Bibliography Example” sheet.

For a book:

1. Create a Microsoft Word document that has “Bibliography” written as a title at the top center of the page.

2. Go to www.easybib.com

3. Click on the “Book” tab.

4. Put in the book title and click the “Cite this” button.

5. If the book comes up: Select your book. Then go to step 7. If your book is not on the list, click “Cite it manually”. Fill in as much information as possible.

6. Click “Create Citation”.

7. Copy and paste the “Bibliography” information into your Microsoft Word document. Remember to put multiple entries in alphabetical order. This is done using the authors’ last names for books and the titles for websites.
