Guard shall be constructed of 1/2-inch by 1-inch mesh heavy gauge, welded, galvanized wire, open on all sides for air flow. Guards shall bolt to fan frame for easy removal.

A galvanized angle guard frame may be used in lieu of aluminum.

Motors: Motors shall be of an energy efficient design and shall be mounted on an adjustable base furnished by unit manufacturer. Motor shall have integral automatic reset thermal overload protection. Refer to Section 23 00 00, Electrical Motor Schedule, or the Equipment Schedule for voltage and rpm requirements. Section 23 00 00 for motor minimum efficiency.

Unit shall be provided with a factory installed and wired disconnect switch.

On fans that have a variable frequency drive, provided factory mounted motor-shaft ground system and the motor shall be inverter duty type.

When required for proper testing, adjusting, and balancing, this Contractor shall provide one additional drive pulley with installation and labor per unit. Performance rating shall be selected and correct size pulley shall be installed following system installation, and running check and balance. Contractor shall retain drive pulley not used.

Roof Curb: Curb shall be fabricated of 18 gauge galvanized steel with liquid tight, continuously welded corner seams, prime coat, 1 1/2 inch wood nailer and 1 1/2 inch, 3 pound density rigid fiberglass insulation. Curb shall be straight cantless type with full metal liner. All curbs to have an 18” curb extension with factory access door, gravity back draft damper.
