From the desk of the

Principal

It gives me immense and inexpressible pleasure to know that this very issue of the Vidyalaya Patrika would soon be gleaming in your hands. Vidyalaya can exhibit to the outside world the features and amenities available in the school. The school students, who are the building blocks of an infallible society and the nation, find ample opportunities to dream, to conceive higher goals and to begin the process in which they have the right to proclaim themselves as ever growing true human beings imbibed with values, vim and a regular vivacity.

Publication of Vidyalaya Patrika is an exercise that provides all students and staff a rich educational experience, especially develop their aesthetic sense. It is a medium of expression of the latest talents groomed at K.V. Seoni for the holistic growth of the student. It finds space for a glimpse of students significant classroom, creative, field and stage activities.

Year by year we are making our students capable enough with inimitable and inexhaustible strength to build dams and innovate projects, serve the ill, find new avenues in farming, art and techno craft, when they walk out after +2 to the enlarged platform of the society. It is a representing part of the whole process.

The constant and generous cooperation and motivation of our Honble Commissioner sir KVS Headquarters, Deputy Commissioner KVS Jabalpur Region and Assistant Commissioner KVS Jabalpur Region have acted a propellers in our tireless venture to be academic pace setters. Dear Lord Ganesh

I don't know about the challenges my friends are facing..

But you know everything..

I hear their silence,

You hear their plead..

I see their laughter,

You see their tears..

I see what they receive,

You see What They sacrifice..

I see what their happy faces,

You see their scarred souls..

I know their faith,

You know their doubts..

I know about their dreams,

You know about their fears..

Today I pray to you to give them everything they need & bless them for all times to come...

Audio Visual Aids & ICT

Learning is a continuous social phenomenon. For providing effective Classroom teaching we have a need of interactive learning tools. In that way information and communication technology stands for Improving the quality of education. ICT assigns the secure place to learn in interactive environment. Using ICT, audio, visual aids we develop the skills as well as learning experience in our students. Our learners are actively participated during audio or visual aided classroom teaching.

For fulfilling or achieving our goals, KVS assigned one essential tool of e-comprehensive teaching learning tools (e-CTLT) through www.kvsangathanectlt.com. We have well equipped resources i.e. interactive board, LCD Projectors, e-learning materials and other audio visual aids. It is a technology that provides the much needed platform for sharing, exchange and enrichment of teaching resources, innovations and pedagogical practices using electronic media. It provides ample time to think about the students and to make various activities for them. Interactive or effective classroom teaching are performed by our teachers, using various educational websites i.e. www.primaryresources.co.uk, www.sumsco.uk, www.mycbse.com, Shakshat portal etc, that tools and websites perform the comprehensive learning environment for our learners in the form of audio or visual aids. For successful or impressive and effective classroom teaching, one regular period must be allotted for using ICT, audio or visual aids.

Common Minimum Programme ( CMP ) For Qualitative Improvement of the Primary Education

Common minimum programme is playing a vital role to develop and

enhance the skill of children. It is providing wings to little children to fly

up to desired levels of success. It develops support system to shift process

of education from teaching to learning by activities and creates the

atmosphere for effective teaching in classroom as well as outside of classrooms. CMP gives ample opportunity and to promote mass participation of primary level students in all co- curricular activities for their overall development. It develops the attitude of creativity, expression, and constructivism and innovation among the primary children as well as teachers also. The CMP provides a lot of opportunity of activity oriented teaching in support of child centered education. Teaching learning process is treated under CMP as a pedagogically for whole development of the children without stress.

For the qualitative improvement of the Primary Education the action plan have chalked out as per the guidelines of the CMP. We have month wise Film shows, Community lunches, TLM generated or procured by the teachers, Class library, PTA Meeting, Dental checkup of students and Medical Checkup, Special day celebration (i.e. Bal Divas, Grandparents day etc), Cubs and Bulbuls activities, Mini Sports meet, Educational Excursion for primary children, School Readiness Programme etc activities as scheduled in CMP planner regularly. Activity sheets, worksheets and personal files of each student are being maintained by the teachers. All classes in each subject is being taught with TAL, CAL, and e- learning in addition to different educational sites of various subjects. There is being observed Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation ( CCE ) for reducing stress of examination from the mind of learners and for that, more time is being assigned for the teachers during classroom activities. That is why, there are being allotted block periods per subject per week in the time table of primary teachers. Co-curricular activities ( CCA ) is being prepared as per the CMP guidelines and activities are being observed as per the schedule. Regular observation of the classroom teaching is being done by the HM and feed back and suggestions are being given to make the necessary improvements in their methods of teaching. Definitely, it is providing the best exposure in our children. Publishing of News Letter has been a step forward to bring in light to activities and performances of children through print media. We are trying our best to bring these budding stars to forefront with the help of Co-curricular and extra Co-curricular activities from time to time. But still a lot more has to be done to reach the desired level.

TIPS FOR BOARD STUDENTS FOR WRITING ANSWERS

Dear students ,

Now the time has come to test the knowledge gain by you round the year i.e your board exams. Knowing the answer and writing the answer are two aspects which yield maximum marks only when there is amicable balance between them. Here are few tips for you which will surely help you in forth coming examination.

Time Management:

The 15 minutes time for reading the question paper should be used judiciously. It is common observation that student miss out any question or a part of it .This happens only due to not reading the question paper carefully. While reading the paper underline the important points which are to be answered. For e.g in the following question :

Describe the principle and working of cyclotron with labeled diagram.

The main points to be answered are underlined while reading the Q.P like principle ,

working and labeled diagram .It reduces the chance of missing any part of a question.

Write the answers to the point without unnecessary exaggeration as it will result in loss of time only as you cannot get marks more than marks allotted for that answer.

Do not waste much time in mathematical calculations in last step of numerical if you are running short of time . Better leave some space and start attempting next question. Calculation can be made in last if time is left.

While reading the question paper decide the question you can answer better out of two having internal choices and tick mark the selected question. Switching over to other question after answering one option is again merely wastage of your precious time. In case you want to strike out the answer and go for the second choice then remember that the first answer should be cancelled out only after answering the second choice. Sometimes at first, student cancel the answer written by them and could not answer the second option due to lack of time.

Important Precautions:

Always write the correct unit for physical quantity .

The direction of light to be shown by arrow mark in ray diagrams in optics.

The polarity of battery should be marked correctly in circuit diagrams in Electronics.

Sign conventions to be followed in optics .

In conceptual questions of one mark having answer as increases , decreases , yes , no etc . mention the relevant formula or name the phenomena also.

Art of writing :

The answer copy reflects the potential of any student . Writing plays an important role in it . Diagrams should be drawn by pencil using scale . Avoid casual way of writing answer. Do not write any remark on your copy eg. Sorry sir , I am ill , etc as it is not only prohibited but also reveals your weakness.

Shaala Darpan

KV Shaala Dapran is a pioneering initiative of Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, aimed at leveraging Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for enhancing the academic delivery system in all the 1099 schools under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan.

The KV Shaala Darpan (e-Governance) system will link all KV schools and provide an interface to the public, its administration and each respective institution.

While covering the entire lifecycle of students, it would serve as a single platform for delivering services to parents, teachers, alumni and the school management. It will usher in a paradigm shift from the existing manual & semi-automated systems working in silos to electronic and integrated management of its various academic and administrative functions e.g. admissions, examinations, accounts, fees, MIS Reports, etc.

It would also serve as the first and largest ICT deployments under Government of India Digitial India initiative in Education Domain. In its true sense, this initiative would result indigitization of over a millionregisters and formsmaintained across all Kendriaya Vidyalayas across the country.

This e-governance system aims to promote good governance i.e. bringing in a culture of transparency, accessibility, accountability and efficiency in the overall functioning of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and its schools

Shades of spring to her fall

Giving a sigh, end of another season.

ROLE OF STUDENTS IN NATION BUILDINZ

A nations development depends upon its students. A nations name and fame both rest on the educated youth. In other words, we can say that students are the real treasure of a nation. They are that spark which needs no ignition. They are the day that can be moulded into any form. A country can only progress if its students are sincere, hardworking and educated. I seem funny but equivalently true that even after 70 years of independence India has shown a tremendous growth in its population and not in any other field to an expected level. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had already said that if we want to develop India by 2000, we have to do it on the shoulders of the young .

India has got 60% of its population as youth. Students must bear it in their mind; the country shall itself become good. India has given them a lot, so now its their chance to pay back something. Stay in your motherland, serve your motherland, and do your duties towards it. At last magical words of Gandhi, Be the change that you want to see in this world, and feel proud to be an Indian.

Aesop's Fables

Aesop(c. 620 564 BCE) was anAncient Greekfabulist orstory tellercredited with a number offablesnow collectively known asAesop's Fables. Although his existence remains uncertain and no writings by him survive, numerous tales credited to him were gathered across the centuries and in many languages in a storytelling tradition that continues to this day. Many of the tales are characterized by animals and inanimate objects that speak, solve problems, and generally have human characteristics.

Scattered details of Aesop's life can be found in ancient sources, includingAristotle,Herodotus, andPlutarch. An ancient literary work calledThe Aesop Romancetells an episodic, probably highly fictional version of his life, including the traditional description of him as a strikingly uglyslave who by his cleverness acquires freedom and becomes an adviser to kings and city-states. Depictions of Aesop in popular culture over the last 2500 years have included many works of art and his appearance as a character in numerous books, films, plays, and television programs.

Aesop's Fables continued to be revised and translated through the ensuing centuries, with the addition of material from other cultures, so that the body of fables known today bears little relation to those Aesop originally told. With a surge in scholarly interest beginning toward the end of the 20th century, some attempt has been made to determine the nature and content of the very earliest fables which may be most closely linked to the historic Aesop.

IMPORTANCE OF COMPUTER SCIENCE EDUCATION

Technology has struggled to find its way into the classroom in all sorts of ways, from projectors and televisions to computer labs and student laptops. Along with improving the way students are taught, it is also vitally important that students learn to use computers to improve their own work and prepare for careers in a world where computers have become as common as the pencil and paper.

Modernizing Education

Education has benefited from the inclusion of technology and computers by making it easier for students to keep up while helping teachers by improving the way lessons can be planned and taught. Students who use computers learn to use word grammatical skills.

Improving Student Performance

Students who use computers have been shown to attend school more steadily and perform better than students who do not use computers. Along with getting higher grades on exams, students also stated they felt more involved with their lessons and work if they used a computer.

Efficiency

Computers make the learning process a lot more simple and efficient, giving students access to tools and methods of communication unavailable offline. For example, students can check their grades or lesson plans online, and also communicate directly with their teachers via email or educational platforms such as Blackboard. Students can also send work to their teachers from home or anywhere else, letting them finish work outside the constraints of school hours and teaching them about procrastination and personal responsibility.

Research

Technology has made research far easier than in the past. Decades ago, students learned history by going to the library and thumbing through history books and encyclopedias. Today, many of those same books are available in digital format and can be accessed online. As the Internet has grown, so too has the available research options. Students can research topics in minutes rather than the hours it used to take.

HAARP - A WEATHER WEAPON

HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) is a little-known, yet critically important U.S. military defense program which has generated quite a bit of controversy over the years in certain circles. Though denied by HAARP officials, some respected researchers allege that secret electromagnetic warfare capabilities of HAARP are designed to forward the US militarysstated goalof achieving full-spectrum dominance by the year 2020. Others go so far as to claim that HAARP can and has been used for weather modification, to cause earthquakes and tsunamis, to disrupt global communications systems, and more.

Major aspects of the program are kept secret for alleged reasons of national security. Yet there is no doubt that HAARP and electromagnetic weapons capable of being used in warfare do exist. According to the official HAARP website HAARP is a scientific endeavor aimed at studying the properties and behavior of the ionosphere, with particular emphasis on being able to understand and use it to enhance communications and surveillance systems for both civilian and defense purposes. Theionosphereis the delicate upper layer of our atmosphere which ranges from about 30 miles (50 km) to 600 miles (1,000 km) above the surface of the Earth.

Theharp website acknowledgesthat experiments are conducted which use electromagnetic frequencies to fire pulsed, directed energy beams in order to temporarily excite a limited area of the ionosphere. Some scientists state that purposefully disturbing this sensitive layer could have major and even disastrous consequences. Concerned HAARP researchers likeDr. Michel Chossudovskyof the University of Ottawa and AlaskasDr. Nick Begich(son of a US Congressman) present evidence suggesting that these disturbances can even cause tsunamis and earthquakes.

Two key major media documentaries, one by Canadas public broadcasting networkCBCand the other by the History Channel, reveal the inner workings of HAARP in a most powerful way. The very well researched CBC documentary includes this key quote:

It isnt just conspiracy theorists who are concerned about HAARP. In January of 1999, the European Union called the project a global concern and passed a resolution calling for more information on its health and environmental risks. Despite those concerns, officials at HAARP insist the project is nothing more sinister than a radio science research facility.

Electromagnetic weapons pack an invisible wallop hundreds of times more powerful than the electrical current in a lightning bolt. One can blast enemy missiles out of the sky, another could be used to blind soldiers on the battlefield, still another to control an unruly crowd by burning the surface of their skin. If detonated over a large city, an electromagnetic weapon could destroy all electronics in seconds. They all use directed energy to create a powerful electromagnetic pulse.

Directed energy is such a powerful technology it could be used to heat the ionosphere to turn weather into a weapon of war. Imagine using a flood to destroy a city or tornadoes to decimate an approaching army in the desert. The military has spent a huge amount of time on weather modification as a concept for battle environments. If an electromagnetic pulse went off over a city, basically all the electronic things in your home would wink and go out, and they would be permanently destroyed.

Time Management

Time management is important in any situation and most people have difficulty getting started. Time management is a skill that you have to learn. It is a lifestyle.

The definition of time management is : getting everything done in the allotted amount of time it is a budgeting process of effectively using the time you have and getting rid of useless time organizing your activities in a sequence that best utilizes your time.

One of the greatest assets a business can have is an employee who uses his or her time to its fullest potential. Time management is not an instinct, and instead, must be learned. Unfortunately few schools or parents teach children basic time management skills.

Using time wisely allows a person to comlete tasks in an allotted time period, take an additional work, or spend more time with family. There are many things in an office environment that prevents effective time .

Positivity & Happiness in Life

The tests of life are its plus factor. The plus factor is sometimes more readily seen by the simple-minded. We shouldnt embarrass. the disabled on the other hand, we should develop a fresh perspective towards life. If we do so, we can see the beauty of the universe in the midst of pains & sufferings. The spring of hope makes recovery possible. It brings peace in the midst of pain and distress. The forcesof destruction are psychological. Life-force regenerates hope and joy.

Destructive elements destroy others and themselves. Forget gloom and doom; seek out positivity and happiness.

Pursuit of Happiness

Happiness defies definition. It is not synonymous with fun, good living or wealth. The rich are unhappy inspite of all these things. Fun activities give us only fleeting movements of enjoyment. Happiness on the other hand is a deeper & more exciting emotion. The way to happiness is not smooth. We have to make our own way pursuit of happiness is a long and lifetime experience. It is to equate happiness with fun & pleasure. Work holds the key to happiness. Contentment bring happiness.

SUCCESS means getting what one wants but Happiness is likely what one gets.

WAY TO HAPPINESS

Today everyone around us is busy in earning money, money & money. Everyone wants money. Even when one asks to the little and innocent children what they want to do in their life.they say they want to earn endless and unlimited money on the way to earn money. Man has become self centred. He thinks that everything can be bought with the money they earn.

But they dont know the importance of real happiness. They dont know the pain when mother gets sadwith her children. They dont know the happiness while making someones mother ready for something. They dont know the happiness of bathing in the first shower in the rain. When the rainy season comes. They dont happiness of getting warmth with everyone sitting around the fire making a circle and chatting. They dont know the happiness of the first of lassi drink prepared at home by the mother & grandmother when the summer arrives. They dont know the happiness of playing with butterflies when the spring comes. They dont know the happiness of so many things because they dont have time for it. They want to buy everything. And because of their busy and exhausting lifestyle they are loosing these moments. They are becoming gloomy. They try to find their happiness at movie theaters,

The ice- cream parlour, on T.V. ,computers&mobiles screen ,on social networking sites. Theyt are becoming hopeless, a pall of sadness.

So to make them enjoy their life, lets turn their way.

Towards Happiness lets help them become children again. Lets make them enjoy the fragrance of wet soil. Lets make them happy & optimistic towards life. That a way to Happiness..

BOOK REVIEW

NAME OF THE BOOK: SACHIN TENDULKAR PLAYING IT MY WAY

My Autobiography

AUTHOR: SACHIN TENDULKAR with BORIA MAJUMDAR

PUBLICATION:HODDER & STOUGHTON

338 EUSTON ROAD

LONDON NW 13 BH

YEAR OF PUBLICATION: 2014

NO. OF CHAPTERS: 28

NO. OF PAGES: 486

Vivian Richards:"He has been a genius when it comes to ability, a Trojan when it comes to work ethic and manic when it comes to his focus."

Sachin Tendulkar's autobiography -Playing It My Waycame to us amidst huge expectations. Knowing Sachin in his own words will surely help us. Rahul Dravid had mentioned before the launch of the book that he would like to know more about how Sachin approached batting .The book contains one huge highlights package of a 24-year career. It starts right from his childhood and traverses his entire cricket journey through some of the most significant moments of his career, in chronological order.

The chapters on his childhood flash out a cricket-obsessed boy chasing his passion. Much of what follows about his international career is what we've known. Donald Bradman writes"I saw him playing on the television and I was very, very struck by his technique. I asked my wife to come and have a look at him. Because, I said, I never saw myself play, but I feel that this feller is playing much the same as I used to play. It was just his compactness, his stroke production, his technique, it all seemed to gel as far as I was concerned.

There is more on what taught him to concentrate when physically exhausted, the fickle nature of fandom and the pressure of expectations reveal the more human side. Besides batting he, is also good at bowling.Sachin and I played 122 Test matches together. I never threatened his place in the team as a batsman. But I can tell you he sometimes threatened mine as a bowler, said Anil Kumblein the MAK Pataudi Memorial lecture he delivered in Mumbai Nov 13, 2013

There are two recurring factors in the book - food and injuries. Playing it My Way could easily be called Playing through Pain. We are let into many details of what his body went through down the years and how he overcame them all. As you read more on the injuries, it takes you back to one of his formative days when he talks about not caring much for injuries. He is a perfectly balanced batsman and knows perfectly well when to attack and when to play defensive cricket. He has developed the ability to treat bowlers all over the world with contempt and can destroy any attack with utmost ease, saidGreg Chappell The sheer sense of joy and passion when he writes about the restaurants visited, or the delight in being fed home-cooked food while on tour is inescapable.

Every person who reads the book will do so with a series of questions or favourite topics. Some of them will be met and some of them will go unanswered. While much of the book's controversial topics came out as excerpts, it fanned the flame to get people wanting more. Why didn't he talk more about match-fixing? The Ferrari incident? The book states very early that some topics have not been dealt with in full because of legal hassles and leaves it at that. Sachin (despite his God-like status and dare I say, expectations) never tries to answer that unanswerable question of what exactly made him. Instead, we get a taste of the all the memorable moments of his career through his eyes and left to figure out the rest.

That we get to know just a little bit more about one of the most public figures of our generation is the books biggest plus point. However, like many of Sachin's most memorable innings - the book is bound to delight but still leaves you craving for more. The writing style is direct and to the point

I exhort you all to peruse it to relish Sachins flair for writing

Shane Warne:"Sachin Tendulkar is, in my time, the best player without a doubt - daylight second, Brian Lara third."

How Cyclones got their names?

(Source: Young Bhaskar)

Historical Background

The practice of naming storms began years ago in order to help quick identification of storms. The names are pre summed to be far easier to remember than the numbers and terms.

The beginning

The practice of using feminine names for storms began in 1900s. Initially it was arranged alphabetically. But now they are maintained and updated by an international committee of the World Meteorological Organization.

Cyclone of the Indian region

The naming of cyclones in Indian Ocean began in 2004.The countries of this region are Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Importance of naming tropical cyclones

>It helps in identifying each individual Cyclone.

IS WOMEN EMPOWEREMENT BECOMING A REALITY

The phrase "women empowerment" itself indicates the rights or power given to women who are deprived of it, so As we know, women are getting right and powers which they deserve as women are encouraged to do work and their parents are spending time, money and energy on their daughters. Girls and women are not lagging behind men other than they are coming to the pointed teak to show their latent talents and abilities. In bunches of results It we take a single flower so we find that in every competitive exams and even in school examination. Girls are scoring more marks then boys for instance in UPSE 2015 out of 10 toppers 5 were girls. Also in most of the school lady teachers are more than gent teachers. Women Empowerment is not only limited to India if we look at international level also so we find that Dilma Rousseff the President of Brazil, Christine Lagarde the Managing director of International monitory fund, or be it Sheryl Sandborg the COO of Facebook(The most probable used social Networking site) Moving toward India the picture is not far behind. Women are picking their places in thousands of men in defence, police, administration, politics, sport and so on. If we look in police we have so We have an ideal officer like Mrs. Kiran Bedi , In sports we have innumerable examples like Marycom, Saina Nehwal , Sania Mirza(Rajeev Gandhi Khel Ratna Puruskar), In politics our first woman PM Mrs. Indira Gandhi , our first woman President Smt. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil , Sumitra Mahajan are some of them.

Todays women are not afraid of storms, because they had learned to sail their ship

Women are using their rights which are given to them equally like men are voting, govt. services and facilities. Even nowadays, due to Hindu Property Act 2005, daughters have equal right on parental property as sons. Women are coming out from these social decustoms such as dowry system, home invasion, domestic violence etc... It is also said that if you educate a woman you can educate two families as there is no doubt about that sun rays are coming from sun similarly, no one can say that women are not empowering.

I have not cited many examples from the great ocean of examples from all over the world. According to cencus 1991 sex ratio was 327 females/1000 males & literacy rate was 54.84% then in 2001 it increased and sex ratio came to 933 females / 1000 males even literacy rate came to 53.57%. In recent cencus 2011 sex ratio came to 940 females / 1000 males and literacy rate reached to 65.46%. It is an appropriate instance for the reality of women empowerment.

Everything needs a loathing of practice similarly in women empowerement also, improvement is always required. Women empowerement is better than before but we have to make it best. We have examples only we have to follow them to reach the summit because now its a responsibility of all of us to make it best. As one ant finds a sugar cube and it goes near it & all other follow it similarly, Women empowerement has begun only we have to play our roll in it.

At last I want to say few lines about women empowerement that

Women are like tea bags, we cant tell how strong they are until they are not in hot water.
