Summer Internships

Through funding from the Maryland Space Grant Consortium and a DoD STEM grant for Biotech Literacy, the STEM Center had four interns who augmented, created, and implemented hands-on STEM curriculum. Brooke Bailey and McCauley Brown (Univ. of Maryland Terrapin Teachers) focused on Biotechnology topics; and Taliyah Jones (Univ. of Maryland Eastern Shore) and David Paton (Univ. of Maryland Baltimore County) focused on Space Science topics. The interns worked on-site at USNA or remotely for 10 weeks under guidance of USNA STEM Center faculty Dr. Sarah Durkin and Christine Maceo. They facilitated activities at outreach and educator events and their researched documents have been incorporated into STEM Center curriculum.
