PATENTPATENTA patent is an exclusive right granted by the State for an invention that is new, involves an inventive step and is capable of industrial application. It is, generally, valid for 20 years. In return for the exclusive right allowed by the National IP Office, the applicant has to disclose the content of the invention to the public.
