The definition of wood is: trunks, branches and roots of trees and bushes without surface contextures (and usually without marrow).
MISTAKES AND PESTS OF WOOD
Deviations from normal condition or components, that influencie its use negatively. This includes damage caused by the parasitic organisms ( mold ), insects. The biggest pests are carpenter mushrooms - e.g. dry rot. They interfere cellulose, lignin and cause wood rot, it means that the wood loses strenght and decays.
TIMBER WOOD
The wood is a natural building material, which doesn´t damage the health of people, and for its excellent features and benefits has an excellent reputation in the construction industry, proven by many generations.
BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT SPRUCE
Spruces are long-lived, mostly reaching ages of 350 years. It is a large, fast-growing evergreen coniferous tree growing to 35 - 55
m tall and with a trunk diameter of up to 1 -1,5 m. The shoots are orange-brown and glabrous (hairless).
The tallest measured Norway Spruce, 63 m tall, Sutjeska National Park, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT SILVER FIR In our conditions the silver fir is about 400 - 450 years old. It is a large evergreen coniferous tree growing to 40 – 50 m tall and
with a trunk diameter of up to 1,5 m. The largest measured tree was 68 m tall and had a trunk diameter of 3,8 m. It occurs at altitudes of 300-1,700 m , in mountains with a rainfall per year over 1,000 mm.

Pines are evergreen, coniferous resinous trees growing 3 – 80 m tall, with the majority of species reaching 15 – 45 m tall.
Pines are long-lived, typically reaching ages of 100 – 1,000 years, some even more.
An older tree, unfortunately now cut down, was dated at 4,900 years old.
