Nestled in the beautiful Jalón Valley in the Alicante region of Spain, The Lady Elizabeth Senior School is located in Llíber. It is close to Jávea, Denia, Calpe, Altea, Benidorm, Benissa and all of the towns within the Jalón Valley. The area is serviced by two international airports, one in Valencia and the second in Alicante, both approximately one hour away. The Senior School boasts mountain and valley views which change dramatically during the seasons. The Summer climate is perfect for outdoor pursuits and sporting and swimming activities as there is virtually no rain, only bright sunshine every day.

Members of staff employed for Summer School are both professional and highly qualified. They are dedicated in their role as teachers and you will be comforted in the knowledge that your child is in the best possible hands. They will be taught English or Spanish and other activities at a superior level in an environment which is conducive to quality learning.

One of the many wonderful things about the course offered at Lady Elizabeth is that so many activities are available and all of them are instructed by professionals who have many years of teaching experience. Our teachers are assisted by our enthusiastic monitors who help with sport, drama, swimming, art, dance, cooking and other activities including the weekly outside activity.

During lunch-time and break-time our monitors run entertaining activities along with football and basketball matches and ensure that the students are fully engaged in all of the activities, that they are having fun and practicing their English.

Nursery age children enjoy participating in a range of activities everyday at Summer School. Our friendly and professional staff place an emphasis on fun and provide a varied and active programme for both the half day and full day course. With face painting, music, art, gym/sport and swimming, there is never a dull moment and learning comes naturally in the relaxed, safe and cheerful environment.

The Nursery is set aside from the rest of Summer School and is held in a set of two classrooms secured with a childproof fence. The courtyard between the classrooms provides the perfect place for water based activities, bike riding and playing with the specialised equipment specifically brought from the Junior School for use in the summer. The children follow a daily routine which includes rest periods where they

can either have a short siesta or quietly watch a film in a room which is especially designed for this purpose. Meal and snack times are closely supervised.

All activities are creative and taught in English. Children from different corners of the globe mix together in perfect harmony creating a happy and memorable time for your child!

Nuestros profesores, profesionales y cariñosos, ponen el énfasis en la diversión, proporcionando un programa variado y activo para el curso. El aprendizaje ocurre de forma natural y relajada a través de actividades como el arte, la gimnasia/deporte y la natación, todo esto dentro de un entorno alegre y seguro.

La guardería se encuentra aparte del resto del Colegio de Verano en dos aulas seguras con una valla de protección. Hay un patio entre las dos clases que proporciona el sitio perfecto para llevar a cabo actividades con agua, bicicleta y juegos con material especializado proveniente de nuestro Junior School. Los niños siguen una rutina diaria en la que se incluyen períodos de descanso durante los que

pueden echar la siesta o ver una película en un aula especialmente designada con este propósito. Las horas de comida y recreo son supervisadas en todo momento.

Five year olds are a very special group. They are too grown up for the Nursery but not quite at the 6 - 8 Year group level. Some of them have started to read and write, some of them have not reached this stage. However, they do have one thing in common and that is that they love to learn and to have fun!

For these reasons we created a group especially for the 5 year olds and it has been a big success. The class size is very small and through games, music, stories and other activities children are encouraged to communicate as much as possible. They have a teacher and an assistant who spend the day with the group taking them to all of their activities and classes. They participate in drama activities, art and craft, sport, gym, swimming and different outside activities.

The programme for five year olds is very structured to ensure that they are comfortable at all times. We understand children of this age and believe that it is very important for them to follow a daily routine.

Los alumnos de cinco años son un grupo muy especial. Se preparan a otro nivel que los alumnos de Infantil pero no alcanzan el nivel de los alumnos de 6 a 8 años. Algunos de ellos ya han empezado a leer y escribir, otros todavía no han llegado a esta etapa. Sin embargo, sí tienen una cosa en común y es que ¡a todos les encanta aprender y divertirse!Por estas razones hemos creado un grupo especial para los alumnos de 5 años que el año pasado ya tuvo un gran éxito. El número de alumnos por clase es pequeño y por medio de juegos, música, cuentos y otras actividades se anima a los niños a comunicarse tanto como sea posible. Tienen un profesor y un asistente durante todo el día que les organizan y guían en sus actividades y clases. Participan en otras clases como drama, arte y manualidades, deporte, gimnasia, natación y actividades al aire libre.La programación para los alumnos de cinco años está muy estructurada, garantizando de esta forma que todos se encuentren cómodos en cada actividad. Conocemos a los niños de esta edad y sabemos que es muy importante seguir una rutina diaria.

Children, aged between 6 and 8 years old, love Summer School. Their day is filled with fun activities as well as quality English or Spanish tuition. The half day course includes two lessons of English or Spanish each day and the full day course includes four lessons of English or Spanish per day. Each child’s level of English or Spanish is assessed and activities are based on those assessments to accommodate the individual. The class sizes are kept to a minimum to ensure quality teaching time for each student. The main areas of development are speaking, listening, and writing and the aim is to increase the confidence of all students in their ability to communicate in English or Spanish.

Pupils also participate in a number of activities during the day. These activities are all taught in English by specialist teachers who are assisted by monitors.

The emphasis is always on fun during swimming and sporting activities, however, the students also receive the best possible instruction from their teachers. Whilst in the pool the children are corrected on their swimming technique but also taught water safety and responsibility. They compete in a swimming gala once a fortnight where they can earn points for their team and are awarded with medals. Sporting activities are varied and include rounders, football, gymnastics and other fun games.

Art and Drama are very creative and enjoyed by all children. Drama encourages the students to express themselves during drama based games and is a great way for the children to make friends. Fabulous art work made by the students is proudly displayed in the reception area throughout the duration of Summer School. An array of materials are transformed into amazing masterpieces!

Every Wednesday the 6 - 8 Year group leaves the School to participate in an outside activity. These activities are fun and loved by all of the

Tienen dos clases cada día de inglés o español si vienen durante media jornada o cuatro clases cada día si vienen el día completo. Evaluamos el nivel de inglés o español y todas las actividades están basadas en esa evaluación para beneficio del alumno. El número de alumnos por clase es bajo para asegurar una enseñanza de calidad. Las principales áreas de aprendizaje son la lectora, la escrita y la oral, y el objetivo es mejorar la confianza de los alumnos a la hora de comunicarse en inglés o español.

A lo largo del día, los alumnos también participan en diversas actividades. Estas se imparten en inglés con profesores especialistas y con la ayuda de monitores.

Durante las actividades deportivas hacemos hincapié en la diversión, recibiendo al mismo tiempo una buena enseñanza por parte de los profesores. En la piscina se depura la técnica de la natación y también se enseñan medidas básicas de seguridad y responsabilidad. Cada dos semanas, hay una gala de natación en la que compiten por puntos y se ganan medallas. Las actividades deportivas son variadas e incluyen fútbol, gimnasia y otros juegos divertidos.

Las clases de arte y drama son creativas y les gustan a todos. Con el drama los alumnos aprenden a expresarse a través de juegos y también les ayuda a hacer amistades. El fabuloso trabajo de los alumnos se expone en el área de recepción durante todo el Colegio de Verano. Un sinfín de materiales se transforman en impresionantes obras de arte.

Todos los miércoles, hay una excursión para el grupo de alumnos entre 6 y 8 años. Estas excursiones son divertidas y todos los alumnos disfrutan de ellas. Hacemos excursiones al parque acuático Mundomar,

For those concentrating on learning or improving English or Spanish, the full day course includes 4 language lessons per day combined with fun and educational activities such as Drama, Cooking, Art, Sport and Swimming. The half day programme includes 2 lessons of either English or Spanish combined with activities. All activities are taught in English.

At the start of the course all students are assessed to ascertain their level of English or Spanish and they are placed in classes based on their age and ability. During language classes they participate in role plays and complete activities which ensure a total immersion in the language. The key areas of development are speaking, listening, reading and writing. Particular emphasis is placed on giving them confidence to communicate comfortably. The class sizes are kept to a minimum and our Summer School pupils receive quality instruction on a much personalised basis. At The Lady Elizabeth School we excel in the preparation for Cambridge English Examinations from ‘Starters’ all the way through to ‘Proficiency’.

Swimming, Drama, Sport, Cooking and Art are taught by specialised teachers. Drama is an excellent way for the students to interact with their friends and to gain confidence when communicating with others. Art at Summer School is always very creative and incorporates the use of different materials and techniques. The artwork makes a colourful display in the reception area of the School. Swimming gives the children a chance to cool off and spend time doing fun water based activities. At the same time they are learning valuable water safety and basic lifesaving skills as well as fine tuning swimming techniques. Once a fortnight all students participate in a swimming gala where they are awarded medals and can earn points for their team . We offer a number of sporting activities including football, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, rounders and cricket, just to name a few. As with swimming, there are competitions held once a fortnight and students have the opportunity to represent their team in volleyball, football or rounders.

Every Thursday students leave the School to participate in one of the outside activities. These activities are taught in English and closely supervised by teachers and monitors. The activities include kayaking and snorkelling, archery, a visit to a ropes course centre, a trip to Terra Natura and Aqua Natura and other adventure activities with local organisations.

The children of this age group make friends easily and enjoy coming to Summer School each year to reunite with old acquaintances from all around the world.

Los alumnos con edades comprendidas entre los 9 y los 11 años, participan en una serie de actividades a lo largo del día. Para aquellos que ponen su énfasis en el aprendizaje del inglés o el español, el día se compone de 4 clases de idiomas por día combinadas con actividades educativas como el drama, el dibujo, el deporte y la natación. El programa para la jornada de medio día está compuesto por 2 clases de inglés o español combinadas con dos clases de actividades. Todas la actividades se imparten en inglés.

A la hora de establecer los grupos, se comprueba el nivel que tienen los alumnos de inglés o español. Durante las clases, participan en juegos de roles y completan actividades que aseguran la total inmersión en el idioma. Las principales áreas de aprendizaje son la lectora, la escrita y la oral, y el objetivo es mejorar la confianza de los alumnos a la hora de comunicarse en inglés o español. El tamaño de las clases se mantiene muy bajo y nuestros alumnos reciben una educación de calidad a nivel personal. The Lady Elizabeth School cuenta con una gran reputación en la preparación para los exámenes de Cambridge en inglés desde “Starters” y durante todos los niveles hasta ‘Proficiency’.

Las actividades las imparten profesores especialistas. El drama es una forma excelente para que los alumnos pierdan el miedo y encuentren amigos durante el colegio de verano. Los trabajos de arte sirven para añadir color a la recepción del colegio. La natación es una de las actividades más esperadas durante el día ya que los alumnos tienen la oportunidad de refrescarse practicando actividades acuáticas. Al mismo tiempo, aprenden sobre salvamento y socorrismo así como técnicas de natación. Cada dos semanas, hay una gala de natación en la que compiten por puntos y se ganan medallas. Las actividades deportivas son variadas e incluyen fútbol, baloncesto, voleibol, gimnasia y otros juegos divertidos. Como con la natación, hay torneos de fútbol, voleibol, etc. cada dos semanas.

Los alumnos van de excursión todos los jueves para participar en actividades al aire libre. Estas actividades se imparten en inglés y los alumnos van acompañados en todo momento por profesores y monitores. Entre las actividades, se incluyen el kayak, el buceo, el tiro al arco, una visita a un centro de actividades al aire libre, una visita a Terra Natura y Aqua Natura y otros parques de aventuras locales.

Los alumnos que están en este grupo hacen amigos con mucha facilidad y disfrutan viniendo al Colegio de Verano cada año para volver a ver a sus amigos de todas partes del mundo.

English and Spanish lessons also include the study of different media and the students will conduct interviews with other students and members of staff, and make brochures, posters and magazines. The class sizes are kept to a minimum and our Summer School pupils receive quality instruction on a very personalised basis. At The Lady Elizabeth School we excel in the preparation for Cambridge English Examinations from ‘Starters’ all the way through to ‘Proficiency’.

Swimming, Drama, Sport, Cooking and Art are taught by specialised teachers. Drama is an excellent way for the students to interact with their friends and to gain confidence when communicating with others. All students have the opportunity and are encouraged to participate in the drama production at the end of the second, fourth and sixth week. During the course we run sporting competitions in football, volleyball and basketball and also swimming galas where students can earn points for their team.

Every Wednesday students leave the School to participate in one of the outside activities. These activities are taught in English and closely supervised by teachers and monitors. The activities include kayaking and snorkelling, archery, a visit to a ropes course centre, a trip to Terra Natura and Aqua Natura and other adventure activities with local organisations.

With students coming from all over the world the 12 - 18 year old pupils have a great time year after year. They re-new old friendships and make new friends from all corners of the globe whilst learning or improving a second language.

Para aquellos que ponen su énfasis en el aprendizaje del inglés o el español, el día se compone de 4 clases de idiomas por día combinadas con actividades educativas como el drama, el dibujo, la informática, el deporte y la natación. Las actividades las imparten profesores especialistas. The new Intensive English Course is designed for students who want to concentrate solely on learning English. The course revolves around the four language skills; reading, writing, listening and a lot of emphasis is placed on the fourth skill, speaking. We prepare students for upcoming exams and specialise in the preparation for the prestigious Cambridge English Examinations for students studying English as another language. The programme, as stated is intensive so we have included activities which still concentrate solely on the use of the English language, but are designed to enhance the use of the language in a more practical situation. Role plays, in drama, include everyday occurrences, such as interviews, purchasing tickets, asking for directions and other possible situations which will help with future education, travel, careers and everyday communication in English. Subjects such as; History, Geography, Science and Global Issues are also studied during the lessons which gives students a much broader vocabulary and understanding of the language.

English classes are organised according to the individual student’s level and the examination which the pupil is specifically aiming for. Classes will be conducted concentrating on the different Cambridge Examination Levels including KET (Key English Test Level A2), PET (Preliminary English Test Level B1), Cambridge First Certificate B2, Cambridge Advanced Certificate C1 and Cambridge English Proficiency C2. Class sizes are kept to a maximum of ten students per class.

Students will be expected to prepare and present PowerPoint presentations on a variety of subjects which they will have to research and investigate. During speaking lessons they will be filmed and given individual feedback on their performance. Grammar lessons will be interesting and taught in a very practical way. Throughout the week pupils will complete practice examination papers and exercises, in all skills, which will help in their exam preparation.

Their progress during the course is monitored very closely. Where areas of weakness are detected more focus will be given to that specific weakness. Parents will be informed of the students’ progress and a final report will be issued at the completion of the course. The report will contain information regarding the student’s level, the work they have completed and a recommendation regarding which examination the child should sit and which areas need improvement.

Courses are available in two, four or six week blocks.

El nuevo Curso Intensivo de Inglés está diseñado para estudiantes que quieren concentrarse únicamente en el aprendizaje de Inglés. El curso gira en torno a las cuatro habilidades lingüísticas; la lectura, la escritura, la comprensión y sobre todo la expresión oral. Preparamos a los alumnos para los exámenes y contamos con una gran experiencia en la preparación de los prestigiosos exámenes de Cambridge dirigidos a estudiantes de inglés como segundo idioma. El programa, tal y com les hemos explicado, es intensivo por lo que hemos incluido actividades que se concentran exclusivamente en el uso del idioma inglés y que están diseñados para mejorar el uso de la lengua en situaciones prácticas. Las clases de inglés se organizan de acuerdo al nivel de cada alumno y en el nivel del examen en el que cada alumno se ha matriculado. Las clases se concentran en los diferentes niveles de los exámenes de Cambridge incluyendo KET (Prueba de Inglés del Nivel A2), PET (Examen Preliminar de Inglés Nivel B1), Cambridge First Certificate B2, Cambridge Advanced Certificate C1 y C2 Cambridge Dominio de Inglés. Students have the opportunity this summer to combine English or Spanish lessons with a course in Marine Science and Scuba Diving or Marine Science and Snorkelling. The courses run for two weeks and include all materials, use of specialist equipment and transport from the school to the beaches, Mundomar and other locations where they will have a chance to study marine life in the Mediterranean.

The courses are run by Mr Russell Hollingworth who is a Marine Biologist, qualified PADI Dive Instructor and Physics and Science Teacher at The Lady Elizabeth School. He has worked in the local area for many years in different Marine Biology roles. His more recent work has included the study and identification of dolphins between Benidorm and Denia and he also spent some years at Mundomar in Benidorm as a Marine Biologist. The Marine Science course involves the study of the Marine Life in the local area, the collecting and analysis of sea water and sea plants and many other research activities specifically related to Marine Science. Investigation work will be done from both the shore and the boat. Mr Hollingworth has been successfully running these courses for many years and has a lot of experience in this field.

The courses available are as follows:Course 1: Scuba Diving, Marine Science and English or Spanish

(Students must be 12 Years or above for this course)The course is run over a two week period. At the end of this two week period successful students will be eligible for their PADI Open Water Certificate. They will participate in both practical and written components of the course and will be required to pass both aspects in order to qualify. Throughout the course marine investigations from both the shore and the boat will be conducted. Research will be completed in the laboratories at school. For those students wishing to also do lessons in English or Spanish this will be integrated into the course. For pupils wishing to only do the Scuba Diving and Marine Science Course this option is also available. Students who already have their PADI Open Water Certificate can also do this course to advance to the next level of PADI certificates.

Course 2: Snorkelling, Marine Science and English or Spanish(Students must be 11 Years or above for this course)

The snorkelling and Marine Science Course also runs over a two week period. It involves the study of local marine life, collecting samples of sea water and sea plants for analysis, the setting up and maintenance of aquariums. Students will visit Mundomar to complete studies of the dolphins and other marine life and will also conduct research from the sea-shore, kayaks and boats. Throughout the day they will work in the school science laboratories to continue with their marine research.

Curso 2: Snorkel, Ciencias del Mar y español o inglés(Dirigido a alumnos de 11 años o más)

Este curso tiene una duración de dos semanas. Implica el estudio de la vida marina local, la recogida de muestras de agua de mar y plantas marinas para su análisis, la creación y el mantenimiento de acuarios. Los alumnos visitarán Mundomar para completar los estudios de los delfines y otras especies marinas y también llevarán a cabo investigaciones desde el mar a la costa, con kayaks y botes. A lo largo del día continuarán con la investigación en los laboratorios de Ciencias del Colegio.

For the first two weeks of Summer School we are running a Football Sala Camp. This can be combined with English or Spanish lessons and includes four lessons of football and four lessons of English or Spanish or students can participate in an intensive football course only. The football camp will include quality football instruction concentrating on all skills. Video analysis of each player and fitness tests will be conducted throughout the camp with the objective being to improve on both the skill and fitness aspects of football. The players will also have use of the 25 metre outdoor swimming pool. Groups will be organised according to age and ability. Pupils will participate in matches against players of their own ability.

Tururac is an adventure based business run by professional staff who ensure that students aged from 9 - 17 have a fun-filled, adventurous day. 9- 12 year olds have the opportunity to learn to kayak and snorkel in the safe bay next to the Marina in Denia. Older pupils kayak to the cave, la Cova Tallada, where they have the chance to snorkel and explore the cave, before returning on foot to Les Rotes.

The children can snorkel in the clear waters of the safe bay near the Yacht Club. All activities are run by qualified instructors from the Yacht Club and the

students will also be accompanied by our own monitors.

Terra Natura is a wildlife park where pupils in the 6 - 8 Year group enjoy spending their time looking at the different animals and enjoying watching the keepers feed and look after the animals. When they return to school they complete work specifically based on what they have seen. The older age groups, 9 - 18 also spend some time studying the animals and then

they are able to cool down in the Aqua Natura water park.

Staying with a British Family to Help Learn English

It is not necessary to travel to another country to be immersed totally in the English language as we have many native British families living in close proximity to The Lady Elizabeth School. This year we are pleased to continue with our Residential Section where students have the option of staying with a British family.

What better way to reinforce the language taught during the day at Summer School than to go home and continue to speak in English with English people. Our Host Families are committed to helping your child to extend their vocabulary and knowledge of English and develop an understanding of the language during ‘real-life situations’ as well as looking after them in a caring manner and ensuring that they really enjoy their summer!

We personally choose the British Family who is most suited to your child’s needs. All families are assessed and we have the upmost trust in them. We look at the family situation and the common hobbies and interests that your children and the Host Family may have. We encourage the Host Families to participate in a series of games and activities which helps strengthen the relationship between your child and the Host Family and also encourages speaking in English. On the Sunday before the course commences you have the opportunity to meet with your child’s Host Family in a relaxed environment.

Our staff members closely monitor the Host Families and the students and ensure that everyone is happy and they regularly communicate this feedback to the parents.

Staying with a British Family in such a wonderful environment where the sun doesn’t stop shining and the beach is just around the corner creates an excellent atmosphere conducive to learning another language.

No hace falta viajar a otro país para sumergirse totalmente en el idioma inglés; cerca de nuestro colegio, The Lady Elizabeth School, viven numerosas familias británicas. Este año nos complace ofrecerles nuestro Programa de Residencia en Familias por el que los alumnos tienen la opción de alojarse con una familia británica.

¡Qué mejor manera de reforzar lo aprendido en el Colegio de Verano que yendo a casa y continuar hablando en inglés con gente inglesa! Nuestras familias se comprometen a ayudar a sus hijos para que mejoren su vocabulario, su conocimiento del inglés y la comprensión del idioma dentro de ‘situaciones de la vida real’, mientras que les cuidan y se aseguran de que pasen un agradable verano.

Nosotros seleccionamos la familia apropiada para sus hijos y sus necesidades. Todas las familias son de plena confianza. Buscamos familias que tengan pasatiempos e intereses comunes con sus hijos para que les ayude a crear un lazo de amistad que fomente el aprendizaje del idioma. El domingo previo al comienzo del curso, tendrán la oportunidad de conocer a la familia dentro de un entorno relajado.

Nuestros monitores están disponibles en todo momento para asegurarse de que sus hijos están contentos y para comunicar de manera regular con ustedes.

A Day in the Life of our StudentsStudents wake up in the house of their Host Family and are immediately speaking and communicating in English. They travel to School either in the car, with their Host Family, or on the school bus. The School day begins at 09.30 and includes four interesting and quality English lessons, and four fun activities including; Sport or Dance, Drama, Swimming, Art and Cooking. All subjects are taught in English.

During lunch-time a healthy lunch is eaten in the School Cafeteria and then the students can participate in football or basketball matches, play table tennis or badminton in the gym, join one of the many supervised activities or just relax whilst they are waiting for the afternoon lessons to begin. At 16.30, after a busy but rewarding day, pupils return to their Host Family either via car or the school bus. Upon returning to the house they will enjoy dinner with their Host Family and can practise the English that they have learnt during the School day.

On Thursday night the residential students stay at School to enjoy a pool party and a disco followed by a meal and then they return to their Host Family. This evening activity is a great opportunity for the residential children to get together to help create lasting friendships that always eventuate in Summer School. Each Saturday a trip to local theme parks Terra Mitica or Aqualandia is organised and all pupils have a fun day out with their monitors and members of staff.

The CourseEnglish LessonsDuring English lessons students will learn the basic language skills, speaking, listening writing and reading. Particular emphasis is placed on communicating comfortably in English. Teachers also concentrate on teaching the language based on real-life situations and basic History, Geography and Science are taught throughout English classes at all levels. Students participate in role plays and complete activities which ensure a total immersion in the language. We aim to keep the lessons interesting and diverse so that the students are not just drilled in grammar which can sometimes lead to boredom.

English classes are organised according to age and ability and in all age groups there are four levels ensuring that your child is placed at the right level. Students will be moved within these groups if the level is found to be inappropriate.

ActivitiesSwimming, Drama, Sport, Cooking and Art are taught by specialised teachers. Drama is an excellent way for the students to interact with their friends and to gain confidence when communicating with others. All students have the opportunity and are encouraged to participate in the drama production at the end of the second, fourth and sixth week. During the course we run sporting competitions in football, volleyball and basketball and also swimming galas where students can earn points for their team.

Un día en la Vida de Nuestros Alumnos

Los alumnos se despiertan en casa de la familia inglesa y automáticamente hablan y se comunican en inglés. Van al colegio en coche, con la familia, o en autobús. El día escolar comienza a las 09.30 e incluye cuatro clases de inglés, interesantes y de calidad, y cuatro actividades entre las que se incluyen: deporte, drama, natación, arte y cocina. Todas las actividades se imparten en inglés.

La comida es en la cafetería del colegio y los alumnos pueden participar en juegos de baloncesto o fútbol, ping-pong o bádminton en el gimnasio, apuntarse a actividades o, sencillamente, relajarse en espera de las clases de la tarde. A las 16.30, tras un día entretenido, los alumnos vuelven con sus familias de acogida en coche o autobús. Una vez en casa, disfrutarán de la cena con la familia inglesa y podrán practicar el inglés aprendido en el colegio.

Los miércoles por la tarde, los alumnos que están con familias de acogida se quedan en el colegio para disfrutar de una fiesta y discoteca junto a la piscina, seguido de una cena antes de volver con sus familias. Esta actividad vespertina es ideal para que los alumnos se conozcan mejor y así poder crear amistades que siempre resultan ser muy duraderas. Todos los sábados, organizamos una excursión a Terra Mítica o Aqualandia a la que los alumnos acuden con los monitores y profesores.

El CursoClases de InglésDurante las clases de inglés, los alumnos practican las técnicas básicas para el aprendizaje de un idioma, aural-oral, escritura y lectura. El énfasis lo ponemos en la comunicación en inglés. Los profesores también concentran sus esfuerzos en la enseñanza del inglés a todos los niveles en situaciones de la vida real, y también como parte de otras asignaturas del currículo como la historia, la geografía y las ciencias. Los alumnos participan en juegos de roles y completan actividades que les ayudan a sumergirse totalmente en el idioma. Nuestro objetivo es impartir clases de inglés interesantes y diversas para que los alumnos disfruten y, como consecuencia, saquen el mayor provecho posible de las clases.

Las clases de inglés se organizan dependiendo de la edad y del nivel de inglés, disponiendo de cuatro niveles de inglés diferentes en cada grupo para asegurarnos de que su hijo/a se encuentre en su nivel apropiado. De todas formas, los alumnos cambiarán de grupo si es necesario.

ActividadesProfesores especialistas imparten las clases de natación, drama, deporte, cocina y arte. Drama es la forma perfecta para que los alumnos interactúen con sus amigos y ganen confianza en comunicación. Todos los alumnos tienen la oportunidad de participar en una pequeña obra teatral al final de la segunda, cuarta y sexta semana. Durante el curso organizamos competiciones deportivas en fútbol, voleibol y baloncesto así como una gala de natación en las que los alumnos ganan puntos para sus equipos.

English Opens Up Your World

The SchoolThe Lady Elizabeth School is known for excellence, boasting wonderful results and it is a college renowned for International flair. Located close to Javea, Calpe, Moraira, Benissa, Benidorm, The Jalon Valley, and Denia, it is a perfect place for students to spend the summer close to the beach with the added advantage of learning English in a relaxed and highly professional environment.

The Lady Elizabeth School has good facilities and English classes at Summer School take place in large, fully equipped classrooms with interactive white boards. The computer suites are utilised to enhance the learning of English with interactive programmes and the use of ICT to prepare brochures, newspapers, magazines, presentations etc. Cooking classes take place in the Food Science room, lessons in drama are taught in the Theatre and the Dance Studio is utilised for dance. Basketball, volleyball, football and a number of other sporting activities are played either in the Gymnasium or on the Sports Court and swimming classes take place in the 25 Metre Outdoor Pool. The combination of great facilities, an excellent academic record and a wonderful location means that The Lady Elizabeth School provides students with the best chance to learn English in an environment conducive to learning.

The Staff

Our staff consists of Native British teachers who are highly qualified and dedicated in teaching English to students who attend Summer School from all over the world. Pupils will benefit from their expertise in all fields. Our teachers are assisted by our enthusiastic monitors who help with sport, drama, swimming, art, dance, cooking and other activities including the weekly outside activity. Any language is learnt to a higher level when students are exposed to that language in all situations. When they are participating in activities all day where the Native English teachers communicate in English only, they will become more fluent, their pronunciation will be better and they will understand more of the everyday ‘real-life’ language.
