● Divided into units which are divided into parts● Cover the four parts of language:
○ Reading: Each part of a unit has different but related dialogue.○ Writing: 3-4 writing prompts are spread out over the book.○ Listening: Each unit has listening practice.
■ JTE may opt for CD or ask ALT to help with dialogue.○ Speaking: Each unit has a conversation using everyday phrases
for speaking practice.■ Often used for one-on-one speaking tests

5-10 min.1. Greeting How are you? What’s the day/date today? How’s the weather?2. Today’s Aim JTE introduces target grammar 3. JTE/ALT Conversation JTE and ALT have conversation using the target grammar.
Students are given time after to discuss what they think the teachers said.4. ALT Activity ALT explains activity to students and make sure they understand how to
play. Students listen and do activity.5. Summary JTE and ALT check that students completed activity and understood the
usage of grammar.6. (2nd Activity) Depending on time, the JTE may give a worksheet to practice writing
using the grammar practice in that day’s class or opt to do some listening practice, make students take notes, etc.
7. Closing JTE makes sure that students understood the target grammar. Say goodbye.
