Air-Cushion Corner Protection

Air-Cushion Protection Each corner of the device is protected by a pocket of empty space. These cushions of air allow the PIVOT PRO 97 9.7 case body to flex and dissipate the forces of impact around the case structure rather than transferring the shock directly to the device.


Military Grade Durability Testing PIVOT PRO 97 97 meets the very latest MIL-STD 810G-516.7 Transit Drop standards. Requirements are as follows: • Device must be dropped from a

height of four feet onto solid steel or concrete impact surface.

• Device will be dropped twenty-six times to land on every face, edge and corner.

• Device must be functional with no damage to the screen upon completion of test.

We even dropped a hammer on it a couple times for good measure!

Reliable Grip For Apple Pencil PIVOT PRO 97 9.7 features a secure grip, specially designed for the Apple Pencil. The pencil slot is molded of TPU rubber for a firm hold and has been given a dedicated orientation. This ensures the pencil is firmly seated in the best position and helps to hold the pencil in place if impacted while carrying or stowed in a bag. The rubber grip will also hold other brands of stylus such as the popular Wacom Bamboo stylus.

Air circulation and venting Keeps the tablet cool by using

chimney effect to pull cooler air in while warmer air is vented.


Air circulation and venting is enhanced by the unique shell design only PIVOT offers. ONLY 18% of the tablet surface contacts the back panel of the PIVOT PRO 97 case compared to 28% on the Air2 case. This further reduces heat transmission from external sources to the iPad – virtually eliminating potential for thermal shutdown.


Better Button Access The user’s access to the power and volume buttons has been improved. The case now features tapered openings, which help users locate the buttons easily by touch and allow full tactile feedback up depressing the button. Additionally the buttons are recessed several millimeters below the top surface of the case. This offers both protection from impacts and accidental activations.

1. Teeth – 30% Longer for a better hold even in extreme turbulence.

2. Steel, Full Length Axle – The new, full-length steel axle passes through eight channels across a reinforced case back and clip – eliminating the potential for clip ejection or damage from improper installs or minor misuse.

3. Stopping Blocks – Both the case back and clip now features stopping retainers to prevent the mounting plate from traveling too far into the clip assembly in the event of incorrect plate install.

4. Tactile Feedback Ridges – Referred to as ‘speed bumps’ by the R&D team, these ridges provide a warning to user for improper installation of the mounting plate.

5. 50% Tighter Tolerances – With improvements in engineering and manufacturing precision, the tolerance within the PIVOT channel has been cut in half, making for a firmer fit and user feel.

6. Clip Limiters – Three new structures control the available angle of opening when clip is depressed. This ensures the clip opens only wide enough for a solid mounting connection and easy release when the job is done.

7. Retaining Bracket – The full-length steel hinge is held in place by a retaining bracket.

Smart-Connection Cover is Easy To Use The bottom edge of the PIVOT PRO 97 is removable, for access to the Apple Smart-Connector. The rigid, polycarbonate cover is installed and removed from the interior of the case, so it can’t accidentally be removed once the iPad is installed.

Users simply align the cover and press the snaps to seal the entire edge in place.

READ BEFORE USE! For optimal performance and maximum satisfaction with your PIVOT case, please follow this set of simple recommendations to ensure proper deployment and superior device protection. WARNING: Your PIVOT case is designed to hold your device firmly to protect against accelerated impacts. Once installed, your device will be held securely on all sides. It is not intended to come out easily. When you get a PIVOT case, it means you’re getting the best. PIVOT products maximize protection and minimize the need to remove the device from your PIVOT case.

If you need to remove your device, please refer to this document or visit PIVOT online for instructions to avoid unnecessary damage to your device and PIVOT case!

Pro Tip! Open the ID window and write your info on the ID card before installing the device.

ID Card

Open the ID Window Cover located within the interior of the case where shown. The cover is lightly seated in place, requiring minimal effort to remove. There are no snaps or locks to disengage. Place your ID Card into the window in the desired orientation. Securing your card with a small piece of adhesive tape will prevent the card from moving during use, but is not necessary. Replace the ID Window Cover and press lightly into place.

If printing your own cards, the size is 55mm x 29.5mm


Installing Device

Align device camera and buttons with the corresponding access points in the case body and press the corners of the device into the case in the order shown. The device will snap securely into the case’s perimeter seal.

WARNING! Do not use excessive force or tools of any kind during install or removal of device. Doing so may cause damage or personal injury.

Removing Device

Beginning with the bottom edge near the charging port, press firmly using your thumbs to disengage the case seal. Continue carefully pressing around the edges of the case to release the device in the order shown. Do not attempt to pry or force the device from the case.

Keyboard Compatible

To convert for use with the Apple Smart Keyboard, simply remove the protective side edge to reveal the Smart Connector. Using your thumb and forefinger, begin disengaging the clips by gripping the side edge firmly and rocking with mild force until the clip gently unlocks. Start with one end and continue releasing the clips as you move across the full length. Do not use excessive force or attempt to rip the parts apart.


Stylus Support

The Apple Pencil and similarly sized stylus wands snap firmly into the integrated stylus channel.

Please follow the orientation shown here for the most secure grip. The pencil tip cradle* is specifically designed for the Apple Pencil to prevent leverage that may result in accidental release from the stylus channel.


PIVOT Folio Cover Guide:

Folio Cover

Includes the main Folio Cover with Viewing Slots, Kickstand Hinge and the folio Mounting Plate.


Removal: Disengage the folio cover from the Pivot mounting channel by pressing the clip on the back of the case, which will release the folio. With the clip pressed, gently pull the folio cover out of the mounting channel. Store the folio in a safe and memorable location. Assembly: Align the folio cover with the back of the Pivot case as shown. Ensure the folio’s mounting plate is placed flat against the back of the case with the three slots directed towards the clip. Slide the folio into the mounting channel and secure with the clip.


Kickstand Hinge

Use your folio cover for convenient viewing in four different angles. Open the folio cover and fold into the position show. Engage the flanges on the edge of the case with the viewing slots for superior stability.


Folio I.D Label The folio cover includes an I.D. labeling area ready for use with standard adhesive labels. Download the label template from the manufacturer’s website and create your I.D. label using ink jet or laser printers.

Clip Replacement

a) Remove device. (Visit pivotcase.com and follow instructions for your case and device type.)

b) Remove the hinge cap using blunt end of pliers’ nose and mild leverage to pry the small cap off. There is a small ledge on the edge of the cap for this purpose.

c) With one hand, hold the clip firmly against the case, apply even pressure to the clip.

d) Using pliers with other hand, pull the hinge pin out. (Be careful, the clip is under spring tension.)

e) Remove clip while holding the spring in place. Replace spring if necessary.

f) Install new clip, hold it down firmly while applying even pressure.

g) Reinstall hinge pin, ensure it is inserted all the way.

h) Replace hinge pin cap... DONE!

(Do not combine PCK-2 Generation 2.0 parts with previous generation Pivot clips or cases. They are not compatible.)
