NEWSFPT IVECO SMASHES NEW YORK-BERMUDA BOAT SPEED RECORD
One year after beating the speed record on the Monte Carlo-Venice route, FPT Industrial C90 650 engines power the 40 foot Buzzi designed boat to also smash the New York to Bermuda speed/efficiency record.These engines feature six cylinders with a 8.7 litre displacement and the vessel is capable of a maximum speed of 58 knots. Welcoming the new record, Giovanni Bartoli, CEO of FPT Industrial, said: “Thanks to the experience in these extreme sport competitions, FPT Industrial ensures to its customers the utmost reliability, performance and efficiency standards. Such demanding conditions allow us to test innovative technical solutions for future applications on series productions.”
FPT/IVECO WINS THE DAKAR RALLY AGAIN THIS YEAR!
The IVECO vehicle which won this year’s Dakar Rally was powered with a FPT Industrial Cursor 13 engine. Thanks to continuous research and development activities, the in-line six-cylinder Cursor 13 adopts the most advanced technologies available, such as latest generation Common Rail HD injection system, guaranteeing pressures up to 2,200 bar. These engines provide high power, fast load response and high power density to ensure maximum robustness and reliability, plus low operating costs. The result speaks for itself.

A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ENGINE CAN NOW BE USED IN LIGHT COMMERCIAL AND PLEASURE MARINE APPLICATIONS
Fiat Power Train Technologies special version of the Cursor 16 achieved the fastest speed on water – 277.5 km/h using a diesel engine. Though the new Cursor 16 has just been unveiled, the engine is already a Guinness World Record holder. The high-lights of the new flagship engine are its top performance, compactness and lightness.
Although it is a 16-liter engine, it is the only one of its kind in the market to fit in the packaging of a 13-liter engine, making the installation easier and giving the final customer a wider space on board.
The model has a 6-cylinder in-line architecture and the latest generation of the Common Rail injection system. Its power can reach 1,000 hp at 2,300 rpm, which makes the engine one of the best of its category in terms of performance.
