Injury/Illness during School Hours
If a learner is injured or becomes ill during school hours, the matter must be reported to the school nurse or a designated person immediately. A child will be sent home immediately if he/she arrives at school and is ill. No learner should have direct contact with another person’s blood. In case of an injury or nose bleed learners are requested to ask for help from a staff member. It is the duty of the parents/guardians to see that they are contactable at all times. Contact details must be updated regularly for the benefit of the child. Should a learner need urgent medical attention from a doctor or needs to be taken to hospital and
the parents are not contactable, the school will choose the doctor or the hospital as the case may
be and take the child there. The cost of treatment for the child will be borne by the parents/ guardi-
an of the child.
