Ausubel known for the advance organizer.
This is a tool to help students integrate new information with their existing knowledge, leading to meaningful learning.
Ausubel believed that it was important to provide a preview of information to be learned by providing information on the topic areas and enabling a bigger picture to start.

+Q: How can we measuring gain from the Journal Club?
A: Reflection
Reflection ~ turning experience into learning.
Using a tool such as a reflection for this Journal Club can enabling members to learn from their experience of working in renal and the issues presented with.
Reflection as a means of learning is not new.
Kolb’s experiential learning theory argued that learners go through a four stage cycle which begins with a concrete experience which is reflected upon and from which abstract concepts are developed which can then be tested.
+Honey and Mumford's Model
Based on Kolb’s experiential model.
