certification program that involved an online ed-ucational testing module for stores located in the
United States. Although all U.S. retailers were invited to par-ticipate, only select few have achieved this honor.

login portal that allows you to order marketing tools directly from GRODAN. This new interface will enable the store manager and/or owner to order specific literature that would most benefit your specific customers. Once we receive your online request, we can dispatch to you at no charge, within 5-10 working days. Whenever we launch a new brochure, if we have your current email address, we’ll announce it in the GRODAN INSIDER. The 1” A-OK starters (AO 25/40) are packaged 200 plugs/pack in NON shrink-wrapped sheets. These are available via special order, so check with your GRODAN supplier for availability.

A-OKsUse A-OK starter plugs to germinate seeds and to root cuttings. The 1.5” A-OK starters fit securely into the cells of the GRO-SMART Tray™ as well as the pre-drilled holes in GRODAN GRO-BLOCKS™. (For the 2” A-OK’s, simply use the GRO-SMART Tray’s mesh platform side.) These starters are packaged in 10 x 20” shrinkwrapped sheets with instructions illustrated on the printed label for ease of use.
Mini-Blocks For starting from seeds and
cuttings, Mini-Blocks are in-dividually wrapped in plastic for portability, handling ease, and root protection. Labels on packs contain easy user in-structions. As the plant grows, either remove the wrapping and
transplant into any loose media like GROW-CUBES or leave the wrapping on and
set it on top of a larger GRO-BLOCK or UNI-SLAB.
Macroplugs
Designed primarily for growers start-ing from clippings (cuttings or clones) as the side slit allows for easier inser-tion of cutting. Plugs fit easily into the pre-drilled holes in GRODAN GRO-BLOCK. For best re-sults, place MACROPLUGS into the GRO-SMART Tray cells to keep the plug firmly closed around the stem of the cutting while rooting in.

GRO-BLOCK holes accommodate a 1.5” A-OK starter plug, 1.5” MINI-BLOCK or a MACROPLUG. Packaging labels display easy-to-follow usage recommendations.

GRO-BLOCKSAvailable in many sizes, GRO-BLOCKS are
used as the second (and often final) stage of a plant’s growth. Generally, for optimum water management ca-pability, it’s preferred to start small and
increase the stone wool volume as the plant grows. While a smaller, full-size plant
can live out its entire lifespan is a 3” Gro-Block, larger plants also do well starting in this size, and
then placed on larger Gro-Blocks or Gro-Slabs as the plant grows. Many differ-ent configurations work, so the grower can try several different setups until they settle on the precise configuration that works best for them.
HUGOBy far, our most popular size Gro-Block, the Hugo is the standard for many large-scale growers. Be-cause there is no chemical lock-out of nutrients and water in the GRODAN stone wool media, plants can use less energy for root expansion and reserve more energy for the growth and flowering of the plant. This helps to minimize the amount of growing space while maximizing overall yields of the plants.
BIG MAMA
The motherlode of stone wool Gro-Blocks. This massive block is designed primarily to be used for mother plants and/or small trees as it holds as much free water as a 7-10 gallon pot of soil. It works best with top-down irrigation due to its 8” of height. It is recommended to trans-plant a well-rooted 3” Gro-Block on it as a smaller plant would not be able to handle the sheer mon-strosity of the BIG MAMA.

GRO-SLABS provide the final stage for growing a large plant. Transplant a well-rooted GRO-BLOCK plant onto a slab just like professional growers.
The wrap material that encases all of the GRO-SLABS is designed to stay on during the growing process for comfortable handling and algae prevention.

To pre-soak GRO-SLABS, simply cut the bag ONLY on the top where you will be transplanting your GRO-BLOCKS. Fill the bag with your soak solution and let it sit for at least thirty minutes to ensure complete saturation. Then, cut your drainage slits along the bottom corners and drain to waste. For maximum water distribution and optimal root development, position the draining slits as far from the top GRO-BLOCKS as possible.

UNI-SLABWhile the UNI-SLAB was originally designed for a single plant, it can easily accommodate several smaller plants like herbs or salad greens. Try corn salad, red leaf lettuce and aru-gula for a gourmet salad at your fingertips. Two UNI-SLABs will fit in a standard 10 x 20” flat.
GROW-CUBES are individual 0.4” cubes and are often referred to as croutons. GROW-CHUNKS are a 0.8” version of the GROW-CUBES. Advantages of GROW-CUBES and GROW-CHUNKS include superb aeration and drainage, minimizing the possibility of over-watering a plant. This clean, lightweight product mixes easily with other loose media like ex-panded clay rocks and soil.
When calculating quantity needed, keep in mind that a standard, one-gallon nursery pot only holds 88 fl. oz., not a whole gallon.

GRO-WOOL™ is an econom-ical product and is an excellent choice for outdoor containers or raised garden beds. GRO-WOOL is loose granulate and works well on its own or mixed with other loose media such as expanded clay pellets and soil. Find user instructions printed on the bale wrapping.
If using GRO-WOOL as a soil amendment, it improves aeration, reduces compaction and aids in moisture reten-tion. It’s especially beneficial to growers located in hotter, dryer climates.
Pargro QD (Quick Drain) stone wool is manufactured in GRODAN factories and must pass the same quality testing procedures as the GRODAN product line.

PARGRO V-SLAB - FOR VERTICAL GROWINGFollow the step-by-step instructions as specified on the slab wrapping for continuous watering.
