Eine Zukunft für Dschibutis Kinder Fo

Die SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit haben in Tadschura und Balbala mit dem Bundes-ministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusam-menarbeit (BMZ) und dem Verband Deut-scher Reeder (VDR) neue Hilfsprogramme gestartet.

„Das ist eine europäische Küche“, freut sich die frisch gebackene SOS-Kinderdorfmutter Amina. Eine große Küche wird sie auch brauchen . In den nächsten Wochen wird sie zehn Kinder aufnehmen und ins Erwachsen-en leben begleiten.

Die SOS-Mütter wurden in langen Bewer-bungsgesprächen ausgewählt. Viele der Bewerberinnen bringen schon Erfahrung mit: „Ich habe davor schon ehrenamtlich mit Waisenkindern aus unserem Stadtteil gear-beitet“, erzählt Aicha. Seit Februar 2015 betreut sie zehn Kinder. Kinder wie Ibrahim: Sein Vater ist gestorben und seine Mutter lebt in einer anderen Stadt. Bisher lebte er mit seinem Bruder bei einem Onkel, der selbst fünf Kinder hat. „Hier habe ich mein eigenes Bett“, freut er sich, „und kann jeden Tag zur Schule gehen.“

Neben dem SOS-Kinderdorf wurde noch ein SOS-Kindergarten gebaut sowie ein Spielplatz und Sportplatz mit der Unterstüt-zung von Tadschuras Sultan Abdoulkader Houmed. „Was für eine tolle Aufgabe wir haben !“, f reut s ich auch Dorf le i ter Al iAboubaka, „Sich um kleine Kinder kümmern! Jeder, egal wo: Menschen lieben das.“

Im SOS-Kindergarten können seit Februar 2015 rund 120 Kindern im Alter von drei bis sechs Jahren spielen und lernen: Hier lernen sie das Alphabet und üben einfache Rechen-aufgaben. So fällt ihnen der Einstieg in die Grundschule leichter.

Das SOS-E-Learning-Zentrum Balbala

Rund 200 Kinder und Jugendliche profi -tieren vom breiten Bildungsangebot des E-Learn ing-Zentrums in Dschibuti. Die Ein-richtung umfasst drei Klassenräume mit modernen Computerarbeitsplätzen und In-ternetanbindung. Das Zentrum wurde von den SOS-Kinder dörfern weltweit in Zusam-menarbeit mit dem Verband Deutscher Reeder (VDR) und dem Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung gebaut und fi nanziert. Mit die-sem Projekt soll in die Zukunft der Jugend vor Ort investiert werden. Denn über 60 Pro-zent der Bewohner Dschibutis sind jünger als 25 Jahre. Für viele Jugend liche fehlt eine Perspektive. Ohne Weiter bildung müssen sie sich als Tagelöhner, Ziegen hirten oder als schlecht bezahlte Haus haltshilfe verdingen.

Im E-Learning-Zentrum lernen sie ihre ersten Bewerbungen schreiben. Wenn sie die Computer-Einführungen hinter sich haben, können sie Sprachkurse absolvieren und s ich übers In ternet in formieren. D ie SOS-Mitarbeiter richten die Lehrpläne auf die in Dschibuti benötigten Berufsanforde-rungen aus. Maritime Arbeits plätze stehen ganz oben auf der Wunsch-Liste. „Zu-sammen mit dem VDR teilen wir die Vision, dass eines Tages Seeleute aus Balbala auf einem deutschen Handelsschiff anheuern werden“, erklärte der Vorstand der SOS-Kin-derdörfer weltweit, Dr. Wilfried Vyslozil, bei der Eröffnung.
