'ORK PROGRESSIHG Lewiston Steady progress is be- ing made on the Big Bear Ridge- Deary road in Latah county. At present a crerv of '45,men is employed. They are engaged in crushing and hauling surfacing ma- terial, placing concrete and stripping form. The seeding of the; slopes has been completed. The base roadmix work will not be ]mdertaken until next summer. The completion date is Aug. 31, 1962. The work is now estimated tp be 71 percent complete. PARTY PEACE CORPS EXAMIHATIOH R. E. PIHOCHLE Nr. and Mrs. Norman Lewis en- tertained a pinochle group on Satur- day evening, with three tables in play. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess at the close of the evening. HOME AT lAST Nr. and Mrs. Henry Reil and Mrs. Reinhard Wilken returned to Kend- (rick Wednesday morning from Cali- fornia, where Mr. Reil had been a patient in a hospital for many weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Reil came to Lewis- ton by plane, and Mrs. Wilken re- turned by bus, Marga Wilken meet- ing them to at Lewiston to bring them on home. Mr. Reil is reported as improving steadily, and feeling stronger every day. PLAY CAST PARTY The Senior Class play cast held a party at the home of Dee Magnuson following the play Friday evening. Gifts were presented to their instruc- tor, Nrs. George Merrick, and to the under-classmen who participated in the play. Lewiston —Steady progress is be-ing made on the Big Bear Ridge-Deary road in Latah county.

At present a crerv of '45,men isemployed. They are engaged incrushing and hauling surfacing ma-terial, placing concrete and strippingform. The seeding of the; slopes hasbeen completed.

The base roadmix work will not be]mdertaken until next summer. Thecompletion date is Aug. 31, 1962.The work is now estimated tp be 71percent complete.

Nr. and Mrs. Norman Lewis en-tertained a pinochle group on Satur-day evening, with three tables inplay.

Mr. and Mrs, Luther Parks wonhigh scores; lows went to Mr, andMrs. Douglas Christensen, and ChuckEasterbrook took home the "goose."

Delicious refreshments were servedby the hostess at the close of theevening.

HOME AT lASTNr. and Mrs. Henry Reil and Mrs.

Reinhard Wilken returned to Kend-(rick Wednesday morning from Cali-fornia, where Mr. Reil had been apatient in a hospital for many weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Reil came to Lewis-ton by plane, and Mrs. Wilken re-turned by bus, Marga Wilken meet-ing them to at Lewiston to bringthem on home.

Mr. Reil is reported as improvingsteadily, and feeling stronger everyday.

PLAY CAST PARTY

The Senior Class play cast held aparty at the home of Dee Magnusonfollowing the play Friday evening.Gifts were presented to their instruc-tor, Nrs. George Merrick, and to theunder-classmen who participated inthe play.
