Unveiling the community theatre
While there’s still a long road aheadthat will require the whole community topull together to fulfill the dream of a the-atre & cinema, the project took a giantstep forward yesterday with the unveil-ing of architectural concept drawings.
architect Chris allen from Landformarchitecture + Build Design in Pentictonpresented preliminary drawings and de-sign to the NV Community theatre Soci-ety board for the 14,000 square footbuilding, to be located at the corner ofCoutlee ave. & Garcia St. the buildingwill house a 250-seat multi-purpose the-atre/cinema, and 3 smaller cinemas thatwould seat 100 each. there would also bea community room, lobby & concession.
Prior to finalizing the plans, there isstill some flexibility to accommodate cer-tain specific features that possible usergroups might require. and the society’sboard would like to hear from any groupsthat might like to get involved. they sayit’s a final opportunity to have a say & ac-commodate like-minded activities. apublic meeting will be held Wed.
