Peachtree Road Farmers Market

Peachtree Road Farmers Market Reusable Bag Design Contest. The competition presents an opportunity for students to showcase their talent on reusable shopping bags that will be distributed at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market throughout the season.

Theme is “Live, Love, Be Green.” Students are asked to include imagery inspired by the spring/ summer season and the corresponding regional market goods, such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, etc. We also ask participants to illustrate the spirit of the city. Designs must include the words “2015 Peachtree Road Farmers Market.”

The student who submits the winning design will receive a $1,000 scholarship and the opportunity to have his/her artwork displayed on reusable shopping bags distributed throughout the city. Additionally, two runners-up will each receive a

Students selected as Furman Scholars are eligible to receive at least $7,500 in scholarships upon acceptance into Furman University.

High school counselors may nominate current juniors for the Furman Scholars program who meet all of the following criteria:

1. A genuine interest in an education in the liberal arts and sciences2. A high school weighted grade point average of 3.5 or higher3. Significant involvement in extracurricular activities and community service4. Demonstrated leadership potential5. The brothers of the Kappa Alpha Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. (Stone Mountain, GA).

Judge Richard NevilleMemorial ScholarshipLOCAL Scholarship

This is given in memory of Judge Richard Neville.  He was a practicing attorney in Cumming from 1963-1978 before being appointed Superior Court judge and later Chief Judge of the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit from 1978 until his death in 1984.  This scholarship has been awarded since 1984.  Students must be graduating from a Forsyth County School. The David Skinner/Georgia Development Authority 2015 Scholarship

Award: Scholarships in the amount of $1,500.00 will be awarded annually to students enrolled in the study of Agriculture or an Agriculture related field.

The applicant must have successfully passed their high school academic requirements and have college entrance exam scores qualifying their admission to an accredited Georgia College.

Applicant must be a Georgia resident and live in a rural county.

Georgia Military Scholarships - University of North Georgia

The scholarship pays for your room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms, and fees. In addition, you receive National Guard weekend drill pay, GI Bill, pay for attending Army basic and advanced training, and Army ROTC contract pay (starting beginning of sophomore year). The U.S. Department of State Announces Scholarships for American High School Students to Study Abroad

The National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) offers merit-based scholarships to study one of seven critical foreign languages: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Korean, Persian (Tajiki), Russian and Turkish. The NSLI-Y program is designed to immerse participants in the cultural life of the host country, provide formal and informal language practice, and spark a lifetime interest in foreign languages and cultures.
