ideas of capitalism, big corporations and consumerism.

It is important to recognize the effects that these three concepts are having on the present day, and ultimately how they might effect the future.

+Process First, as a class and on your own we will read Feed by M. T.

Anderson.

Explore where Anderson got his inspiration for the novel. Look how his inspiration is playing out in real life as we speak, here.

Click here to study more in depth the effects of consumerism and here to look at how the rise in corporations might effect us now and in the future.

Here, we can learn how WE can have an impact on consumerism.

+Evaluation After reading and watching all of the articles, websites and

videos, log in to our classroom blog and post a response to the multi-media resources of at least 100 words on each article/website/ video, 500 words total.

After you have responded please respond to at least two of your classmates.

What did you know before you were given this information? What do you think is the most harmful aspect of consumerism? Do you think our world could ever really end up like Titus’ world in Feed?

Consumerism, big corporate control and capitalism are big issues that are affecting us more and more each day!

Take all of this into consideration as you go onto college and your careers and try your best to keep our world from progressing as far as Titus’ did!
