+What’s MUN?

•It is a “Fake” or “Model” version of the real United Nations in which students simulate the work done at the UN and discuss issues of global importance, trying to bring solutions to them.

Students represent different nations, and defend their points of view in the discussions that take place.

+What’s O-MUN? O-MUN is an online version of the MUN club which

offers students to debate and practice debating skills and discuss world problems online.

The program provides students with the chance of traveling to MUN conferences abroad.

The program is supervised by a former Al-Qasemi and MUN club alumna – Salam Keadan.

Two students from the program were trained online and traveled to the Hague International conference in Doha, Qatar. (THIMUN Q 2014)

In the club students are partnered with another Jewish class and they engage in activities that help them see the connections between language, literature and culture, as well as develop critical thinking.

This program brings Arab and Jewish students together to share their perspectives and opinions on the same book.

This program is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv.

+We offer ninth graders the chance to exchange letters and emails with pen pals from all over the world.

In this project students engage in activities that foster cultural understanding and friendship. In addition they practice and improve their writing skills in English.

Our partner classes come from Russia, Armenia, Romania and USA. In previous years, we had pen pals in Germany and India.
