Before and after the experi- ments the body weights and oxygen con- sumption times of the rats were evaluated and the blood parameters were determined from the tail vein blood samples. The ani- mals in group 3 and 4 were made hyperthyro- id with daily subcutane injections of SOj..tg /100 body weight Na-L-thyroxine (Sigma). The 2nd and 4th group rats exercised on treadmill du- ring five weeks trainning program. In this peri- od the hyperthyroid rats were injected SOj.tg/rat Nal-thyroxine in every two days. * Erciyes Oniversitesi Tip Fak. Fizyoloji ABO Uzmam, Kayseri ** Er ciyes Oniversitesi Tip Fak. In exercised and hyperthyroid-exercised gro-ups, total leucocyte count and neutrophil per-centage increased at the end of the experi-ment when compared with normal values whereas did not change in other groups. Eo-cinoP.hil percentage increased in hyperthyroid and hyperthyroid - exercised groups while decreased in exercised group but all these eosinophil percentage values were in noma! rang~s -1o'r rats. A fall was observed in eryt-hrocyte count and hematocrit value in the exercised group after the training program whereas these values increased in hypertl1-yroid ~'tid hyperthyroid - exercised groups. Hemo~lobine .diminished both in exercised and hyperthyroid - exercised groups, howe-ver;· ttlere was· ' flO significant change in hyperthyroid rats when- compared with normal values.
