Requirements
• Must have all three FS at L1 for Foundation Diploma
• Must have all three FS at L2 for Higher and Advanced Diplomas
• Must have FS at L2 in order to gain A*- C in each of English, mathematics and ICT

Myths and legends
• Accept no substitutes …
– Colin was explicitly told that ICT Diploma students do not need to do the ICT Functional Skills – and this was at a National Diploma conference
– The school SLT lead for the Diploma hadn’t thought about Functional ICT but is running separate Functional mathematics and English classes
– If kids are doing OCR National ICT and the Creative and Media Diploma we don’t need to do FS ICT
– The other said we don’t need to enter the Diploma pupils for FS ICT assessment because they are doing ECDL…
