The English Reformation
The Pope said no! He got The Archbishop of Canterbury to grant
the annulment
Henry VIII was excommunicated
He declared himself head of the Church of England or the Anglican Church
Only supported English nobles that supported his cause!
What happened???

Arrested many Protestants and burn ~300 people at the stake

Catholicism was France’s official religion
But…Huguenots (French Protestants)- could worship freely

King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella ordered all Jews and Muslims out of Spain
They also started the Spanish Inquisition– a court to investigate cases of heresy (very cruel)
