US bases in Thailand

The US was allowed to use Thai bases to fight the war. This was very important because of the proximity to the warzone but they would have the help of the Thai army as well. Thailand benefited from this because their air and ground forces received training from the US.

After the war

Even though the war is over, there are still many bases which have US troops in them. For example the Korat airbase is a permanent one where the Royal Thai Air force and the USAF work together and provide protection for the country and its surroundings.
